I now have a wonderful dentist and dental insurance but I've also experienced a crown falling off.  Fortunately, the glue is still on the tooth so I'm comfortable with it the way it is.
Have a great day!

I have a great insurance that cover like 80% of root canals and crowns, which is a blessing.  And I feel your pain, I have had 2 root canals in my life and the process is scary and awful.  I try to go to the dentist every 6 months, me old dentist office closed without notice, send my records to another one that I went once and never again.  They did X-rays and pretty much told  me that the other office had done everything wrong and that I need it:  1-new root canal on and already root canal, 1-new crown on the other root canal because it was done incorrectly, and basically the rest of my molars (all of them) need it fillings. They "Checked' and said that because the crown that need ti replacement was done withing 1 year of the transfer it was under warranty and "I" had no expense for it, so I said fine redo it, of course they charged the insurance anyways.  Root canal and fillings I forgo, and changed dentist, the new ones checked and showed me the "New Crown that was missing a Piece" so they had to redo it, made me so mad.  The root canal is fine and DO NOT need to redo, and I only had 3 fillings not all the teeth.  Dentist offices like your $$ and try to scam you.

Now my daughter had 1 root canal done and her crown fell down the other day, she got a temporary one and that one fell down too, I guess they did not use an strong enough cement.

Many years ago I had a Dentist that wanted us to pay the difference between what they billed to the insurance and what the Insurance paid them, even though that is not supposed to be like that.

I have to have three new crowns only my dentist charges $1750 for them. You are getting a really good deal on the crown at your dentist.

Whenever you can and a service seems inordinately expensive, always shop around.  However, dentistry in ridiculously expensive and should actually be included in health insurance.  Teeth and gums are a very important part of staying healthy and functional.  What often seems the easiest and least expensive with dentistry often ends up being problematic later.

I need to go to the Dentist, but it is very expensive to get what I need.  I am going to get X-Rays and a cleaning and get an idea of what the cost will be for the work to be done.

I just went to a periodontist who does the new laser treatment for gum disease.  Unfortunately I have other issues that need to be addressed as well.  I know it's gonna be expensive so I guess I will have to finance it.  I find out the cost when I go back in 2 weeks.

My latest venture was just a couple of months ago and it cost my insurance company around $2500 and I still had to pay a few hundred more.  ::)

My husband and my youngest son don't have insurance at all so I pay for them both out of pocket and it's not fun. But I think it's worth it so I do it.

Good thing I have Fusion Cash to help me out.  :highfive: Okay, that was a little joke.

I don't like the dentist either.  I have nightmares of going when I was @4 years old and screaming because I was either in pain or afraid.  I don't remember which, but my mother was so embarrassed.  :(

Dental work is way to expensive and even if you have insurance; it seems to not cover much especially if one news extensive procedures; unfortunately most of of just finance if possible or for many I am sure they just don't get the work done. Dental problems can lead to other health issues, so we are basically caught between a rock and a hard place, I try and keep my appointments for basic cleanings and hope that nothing major pops up; even with dental insurance I still end of paying out of pocket cost. :(

:(  Dental problems- We all have them!
The problems with root canals and crowns are:
You will need extra X-rays after the procedure is completed
because the root that was covered with a crown will continue
to decay. The root and the crown will have to be removed sooner
                   or later.
Make sure you have a good dentist!

I am sorry that you had to pay that much for dental care.  I haven't had a root canal or crown in a long time, but I don't remember it being that expensive and my insurance did cover most of it.
