Are you an Introvert?
« on: September 17, 2019, 03:43:48 pm »
I am a introvert but don't mind some social interaction. I did attend a wedding and a funeral recently but I turned down an invitation to a family event because I know I would rather be home on my computer or catching up with some Netflix. Sometimes I just don't feel social, I don't feel like talking on the phone either. Anyone else this way?

I have taken Meyers Briggs and it said I'm an introvert, but I find it hard to believe because I talk to everyone.

I don't like crowds but I love talking to people.

Yes, but I don't feel that technology is at all more important than friends and relatives are. Do you think you need help with your behavior?

Definitely an introvert.  I'd rather keep to myself and do my own thing.  I do have a lot of acquaintances but no close friends that I go out with.

Me and my daughter are the same way, we don't like having to deal with a lot of people, we go to church, but to all family functions, some aren't as exciting. Being home and away from people suits us just fine. If we see you, then ok, but if not, then so be it. We as far as being a social type person, it all depends.

My girlfriend tells me that I am lol.  Opposites attract I guess because she's very outgoing.

I am an introvert. If I recall correctly, I'm ISFP on the Myers-Briggs test. I can do social gatherings, but it's EXHAUSTING for me. I do like to spend time by myself. I'm not a small talk kind of person. I noticed at work during meetings, if the speaker is long-winded and not straight to the point, I often unintentionally tune the speaker out. Or when a co-worker comes to me with a long explanation about a request when all they needed to say was "Can you do X for me?", it's frustrating. I don't know if that's a trait of introversion or if that's just a "me" thing.  :silly:

When I was a kid, I was a serious introvert. I had very few friends, and I preferred to spend the day in my room rather than socializing with other people. Then when I turned 17, for some unknown reason I became very social, had tons of friends, and was the life of the party. This went on even in adulthood. I always had many friends and spent time with them. And then, again, for some unknown reason, I changed again when I got into my 50s. Now I don't like to leave my house and really only spend time with my husband and two college-age sons.  I wonder if I'll change again in my 90s, LOL!

No, quite the opposite.  I love meeting and talking to new people.  I picked that trait up from my dad.  I do, however, dislike public speaking in front of large groups.  Small groups (10 or less) is just fine.
Have a wonderful day!

Not really. I love meeting new people and I am very talkative. However, I am claustrophobic and do not like to be in a crowd or in a small room.

Technically yes, and generally I prefer alone time, but I also enjoy people and have become a lot more comfortable in social settings....

I am a cross between an introvert and agoraphobic and a hermit.  When I was young I considered myself outgoing but I now stay inside my house unless I absolutely have to go out like dr's appts.  very rarely I will go out to eat with my youngest son or my sister & brother in law but most of the time I find an excuse to cancel

Introverted love to be alone. Have books pc and tv to keep me happy. I'm in a wheelchair so there's that.. would like to not be but am. Feel sorry for people who are young and used to moving as they want.
