I have a parrot.  I've had a pet birds since I was a little girl.  Also had a cat for awhile, but turned out I was allergic to them.  My parrot talks and you can hold and pet him.

My family has mostly been cat lovers.  I do like the fact that you don't have to walk them, but you do have to clean the litter box (that's not fun).  I have a black and white tuxedo cat named Gidget.  She is nine years old now but loves to lay on me.

I love animals and have many in my home.  All my pets both dogs and cats are rescued.
Bravo Nancy.I see so many sad stories on Facebook RE animal abuse.Recently just saw a pic of a person had a dog in a cage hooked on to the back of their car. They had the persons name with a write up this person doesnt deserve to own a pet.I gladly shared it.

Its nice to know that some out there in this wicked world care about Gods creatures.

I have been adopted many numerous times by the stray kitty cats from my neighborhood.  It would have been so nice if people would take the responsibility to have their cats spayed or neutered to reduce the pet population.

On the other hand, I treasure every moment with each and every one of my ( our ) beautiful cats.  I never imagined having such a big brood of cats all at once but if I had to do it all over again, I most certainly would.   :cat: :cat:

By the way, even though my husband and I are cat owners, both of us would love to have a dog too.  It just seems like every time we talk about adopting a pooch, somehow the cats seem to know just what we're talking about and then we get stared at.   :o

I have 3 cats and 3 dogs. One of my cats is the funniest cat I have ever had, he has the baseball mitt paws with 7 toes on each front foot. And he sits up like a person sitting in a chair.

I do not like cats.  I have always had a dog through the years.  I have chihauaha, he is 12 years old.  We rescued him from a shelter.  He is spoiled rotten and would not have it any other way.  He is getting and slowing down a lot so I am worried that we are getting ready to lose him.  He has lost 20 pounds in 2 months.  Yes he was a huge chihauaha, LOL.

We have also had cats for the very same reason.  When the kids were young we had Beagles, but had a large enough yard, that he/she stayed close.  Now our cat, age 6, is my go to when I need a little escape from stress.  There is just something about petting her that can settle me down. :cat:

I have heard that having pets and petting them can lower your blood pressure.  :peace: That's a nice side effect.

We have a cat, but she prefers my Sig O to me, so I just go with it.

BTW, kudos to all of you that rescue pets. That is so awesome.

I never liked cats but I am definitely a dog lover. Cats are not loyal because some of them leave home and never come back.

We have 7 cats...no judgement.  They're all indoor cats, but we have a large house.  My daughter has a calico and a black one.  I have a black one and an orange tabby.  Dh has a gray tabby and a gray one.  My daughter's friend has an orange tabby.
