How would you feel?
« on: September 09, 2019, 08:53:17 am »
I have a neighbor who has a car that he parks on the street not in his drive-way.  Reason is because it leaks transmission fluid and oil which has now built up into a deep gooey "pile".  This has been going on for a year plus.  This is a nice development that people are supposed to follow all kinds of "rules" about keeping their place nice.  If your grass gets a little high the HOA fusses but this has been allowed to go on close to two years now.  It looks disgusting unless his car is parked over it and you can't see it.  I did finally call our city environmental compliance and he came out and took pictures but nothing has ever been done that I can tell.  How would you feel if this were you aggravated or "live and let live"

I understand your frustration and anger I would feel exactly the same way.  Have you tried talking to your other neighbors ?  Maybe if you all got together and contacted someone it might help.  Good luck

You should not have to handle it, you pay HOA to handle issues like that.

I do not and would not live in an area that had a HOA.  A place down the street they use to park their cars in the road and you could barely get by.  The police came and told them the next time cars were parked in the road every one that was in the road would be ticketed. It has not happened since.

If there are rules to follow then make a deal about this. It only takes one person to disregard the rules and others will soon follow.

I don't live a place where there is an HOA, but he should get the leaky transmission fluid fixed, I have the same problem but it used to leak, but not now, hope he get it taken care of before he gets evicted.

Report it to your HOA and let them handle it.  Probably cannot due anything since it is a public street but you can try.

Let your HOA take care of it; that is a part of their responsibilities to enforce the rules.

I know there are rules and regulations of people have to follow when they live in certain areas but I myself trying to mind my own business and let each to their own there are too many crazy people out there this day and time that want revenge if they find out you have done something like reporting them

Maybe he should just plant grass on his driveway.

I have a tendency to live and let live.  That's easy for me to say because I live in an apartment complex that's very well managed.

The only time I allow things like that to bother me are when I'm not feeling great and everything bothers me.
Have a great day!
