Would you rather text or talk
« on: September 03, 2019, 06:21:01 am »
I used to be one for talking on the phone but since the age of texting, I tell anyone who wants to get in touch with me to send me a text. If it is an emergency, I tell them to call. Other than that, I would only get texts.

It just depends.  I hate texting back and forth with delayed responses and something takes half a day that you could take care of in a 2 minute conversation.

I would not even talk to someone who would not answer my call.  Obviously if I am calling I need to talk to you.

I had a "friend" once that was ignoring me when I called her. I called several times and finally texted and said I need to talk to you.  I called again and she ignored me.

I get a hateful  "WHAT DO YOU WANT"  text which I should have replied with  "never mind"  But I answered the text with "xxx just died"  Guess what?  She called me. smh  I should have ignored her call.  I was younger.  I was nicer.  Today, I would probably handle the situation a lot different.

It depends on the person and what I have to say.

It really depends on the person calling/texting.  Some people I would rather only receive a text from and others I would rather receive a phone call.
Have a wonderful day!

It really depends on the person calling/texting.  Family tends to call and friends and work will normally text.

I would rather text people unless I am at home and have free time to answer.

Short conversations by text.  Lengthy discussions require a phone call.  I texted back and forth with my niece for like two hours one night.  And I thought, Why don't we just talk to each other?

If it's a close family member or a close friend, I prefer to talk.  That is especially the case if we have been out of touch for a longer period of time.

When it comes to our business clients, if I have the choice of talking or texting, I'd much rather text.  I can send a nice, friendly text that gets the point across very quickly.  Then that frees up my time to the endless other tasks that must be handled.

I prefer to Text... most conversations aren't chat sessions nowd ays, at least for me, just cut to the chase & I can reread it later for reference.  Fast & efficient.

Yeah, it depends on the situation. Texting is more convenient for quick information back and forth - or group texting with several people when you are trying to coordinate something in particular.

When there is more complex detail involved, a voice call is best.

I also prefer texting if someone is telling me about a location or event...  an address or an appointment. Then I don't have to remember it or write it down and get it wrong. I can just refer to the text message and transfer it to my phone calendar if necessary.

I would like taking to the phone rather than texting because I'm slow on typing.

I typically prefer to text but I do still enjoy a good verbal chat.
