I haven't invested in much of clothing or shoes, I  have to have shoes with a good arch support.

lol I think most people have enough clothes that they would not need to purchase any more.  I have plenty of clothes.  Some of them need to be sent to a rag bag though.  I mean in reality 2-3 pairs of jeans and a few tee shirts and you would have clothes to wear.  You just have to wash more often.  And you can wear jeans more than one day if you don't do stuff to get really sweaty or dirty.

I go through spells of buying clothes.  I'll buy a bunch on sale and then it will be quite a while before I buy more.  I have problems with turning down good sale prices.  My grandson has more clothes than any child would ever need.
Have a wonderful day!

I spend based on quality and value. Costco oxford, button down shirts represent both categories quite well. For eighteen dollars (and change) I get a shirt that lasts at least four years and never needs to be pressed or ironed. Theses shirts come in a variety of patterns and colors and can be worn for business and casual events. I currently have five Costco dress shirts.  All of these qualities can be found in a pair of Levi's jeans as well. because I wear them every day they tend to last about three years. I currently own two pair of Levi's jeans. Ralph Lauren Polo Shorts and knit shirts also make my list of quality clothes with value. I buy at the local outlet and they are still a bit pricey but they are durable and top off my freedom wear choice (worn when not working at my day job).

I try to get the best deal on everything from shoes, shirts, pants, and purses. I just don't like to spend a lot of money on anything if I feel I can get it cheaper.

Probably tops. I seem to buy more tops than any other clothing items.
