Gift Card Offers
« on: August 02, 2019, 12:40:05 am »
Yesterday I went in for a Mammogram.  Nothing to be concerned about.  It was just an annual exam.

I haven't been motivated to do all the annual exams but last month I received an offer I couldn't refuse.  I received a letter in the mail from Molina HealthCare where I was offered a $40 gift card to have a Mammogram before Dec. 31st 2019.

I've earned money by selling my plasma and I understand the American Red Cross offers a $5 gift card if you donate blood but I've never been paid to have an exam.....

in the past.

Have you ever been offered money or gift cards for exams?
Have a great day!

My Anthem policy pays me a bonus on a gift card for doing certain healthy things ~ annual checkup ($100), teeth cleaning ($50), staying smoke free ($50).
Have a wonderful day!

No, but I'm open to the gift card idea for something I do anyway.

Wow, that was a nice reward for doing something we ought to do anyways.  I'm on a Medicare Advantage plan and I wish they would do something similar.  I would be all over it!! Of course, I get the exams I am supposed to do regularly. Something like this wouldn't hurt though and would certainly be an added motivation.

My cousin just told me she gets gift cards if she keeps up her kids wellness checks.

Not everyone has insurance.  And if you do not have insurance you cannot afford to have this done.  And not everyone qualifies for the freebies either.  There are a lot of people who fall through the cracks.

I understand that men can get breast cancer, but I have never had a mammogram myself. My wife is a survivor and gets one every year, even though she complains about getting squeezed. That being said, I could be motivated with a $40 gift card.

I get incentives from my insurance company to do different exams. So I do them!  :angel11:

Once in a while I see an email about some kind of medical participation and it offers a large sum of money. Being I don't have a of things  wrong with me (knock on wood)  I always delete them

That is a nice idea' although I still do my annual exams regardless of any offers but I think the gift card idea might be nice as a reminder to get done; so it's a good idea.
