Where would you go?
« on: August 01, 2019, 04:27:19 pm »
Where would you go if you wanted to go out, but didn't have anyone to go out with and you don't want to seem weird. I had someone ask me that question the other day.

Usually when I am alone I pick a nice restaurant to go to dinner and then a movie.  (Or home if nothing good at the movies.!)

No problem...because there are so many places you can go alone.

I used to go to the mall all the time when I was younger. I would have money in my pocket but would hardly spend it. it was just something to do and I always went alone. after a while of going, I would see  the same people and would eventually become friends with some of them

I would probably go to the mall and shop. Shopping is fun for me. I would also eat in the food court.

Just google the name of your city and "things to do" or "nightlife" or "free fun" most cities have a calendar filled with activities of things going on.

Wow I thought this would be easy but really it isn't.  People do tend to judge someone sitting alone in public.  One time when I was in college I just stepped across the street to have lunch.  While I am sitting there this lady kept looking at me.  When she got up to leave she handed me religious pamplets stating that I looked like I was in need or something to that effect.  I was just thinking at the time what is this lady's  problem why does she keep looking at me.  I suppose that did set the tone for not sitting by myself in a restaurant....  Other than that I am never alone.  go for a walk the dog comes with.  So for now I would love to be by myself any where even for a short time.  You know other than the bathroom.

I don't have a problem with it and to each his own.  Many people go out alone to the mall, park, to eat, stores, trips etc.

You are not going to seem weird if you go out alone to a movie, to eat, or whatever.   People are too crazy, insane, and stupid. I would not go "out" any where.  I would stay at home.

I'd go wherever I wanted to go. I don't always have someone to go with me, so I just go. The alternative is staying home alone. Sometimes enjoyable and sometimes not.

I don't much care if people think I'm weird or not. Why should I?

Why is it weird to do things alone? I do it all the time, because I don't have any friends! LoL

Go out to eat, go to a movie, go to the library, go to a concert, go to a bar, go to the park, go shopping, roll down all the windows and go for a drive, etc. Almost anything you do with someone, you can also do without them.

Except seesaws. You can't do that alone.

I would go see a film or just go to the local library to hang out and read or crochet or go on the computers there to do surveys and the like. Or you could go to Starbucks, order a coffee, and sit at a table drinking the coffee and reading a book if you wanted.

Nothing wrong with doing things alone.  I shop and have a spa day and get a manicure and pedicure to list a few things.

Totally agree with this!  I love my alone time once in while I usually can something to do even if it is just going shopping or for a walk.
