If you have really dry skin...
« on: June 23, 2019, 01:07:55 am »
If you have really dry skin what Lotion do you use and is it worth the price your paying for ? I personally use Vaseline Repair 32oz for 8.50$ from where I'm at and an Aveeno 20ozfrom around 7$ These two are the only ones that keeps my arms and legs from drying out.

I too have used Vaseline Repair.  Lubriderm also makes a good one.  Gold Bond does as well.  Those brands are so pricey I only purchase them when on sale.  I have eczema so if my skin is really bad and on the verge of a flare up I'll use cortisone.  The creamy kind though..not the Petroleum.  I can get by with Suave or even Bath and Body works during some seasons.  Seems as though if I use the right soap (Dove or even oil of olay) my skin and lotions balance pretty well.  It's gotten better the older I've gotten.

Gold Bond or Vaseline Repair.  Gold Bond Exzema works well on my eczema too.

Thank's for the replies mates. Might try out Gold bond since I have never tried it before but was recommended to it multiple times.

I use just plain old coconut oil from Aledis or or the non Petroleum one from the baby section.

For me, coconut oil actually causes dry skin. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find a natural ingredient lotion that doesn't contain coconut oil, because everybody claims it's some miracle cure for everything.  :-\

I live in Colorado and it is very dry here. I also use Vaseline Advanced Repair - I have found it to be worth the money. Hydrates and softens skin without being greasy.

The best product I've found for dry skin is a lotion made by Melaleuca called Renew.  It's amazing, and is worth what I pay for it!

I use aloe vera or cocoa butter. It works pretty good, but I'm sure there's a lot that works better.
