Anyone know of a comparable place here in the USA??   This one is in UK, and I do not know if they would work with USA people,  but it's  very nicely set up for free spectacles if you are in need and haven't insurance or cash.

There are all kinds of places that you can get pre-owned eye glasses in the USA.  Just google it.

I’m not sure if you have a Lions club in your area but we have one here in Kentucky and they offer free prescription glasses help it may be worth googling

Yep, just google it.  There are several. You have to qualify though.

Wow that is awesome my glasses always cost so much on my limited income but I would like to also donate glasses to that - I hope I won't even need glasses after cataract surgery.

After paying thousands for prescriptions over the years, when the insurance ran out, I started using the OTC readers too!  But this Free Eyeglass offer got my attention (in UK) and I wondered if the USA had one.

I just answered you.  Google free eye glasses and your zip code.  YES the USA has programs where you can get free eye glasses but you have to qualify.
