It was my parents wedding anniversary today, so we went out of town to celebrate for that as well as a "kinda/sorta" memorial day celebration. We might have a barbecue just my BF and I!

Both my grandparents were in WWII so I do what I always do, by truly honoring the day for what it was meant, visiting a cemetery.  In respect to them and my father who was army, I cannot honor it any other way.

My son's boy scout troop is serving pancakes on Memorial Day morning before going to the parade. Other than that it will be nice and quiet.

Right. Memorial Day is not a day of celebration.  It is a day to remember those who died serving our country.  It amazes me at the people who have NO IDEA what Memorial Day is even about.

It doesn't kick off summer.

It isn't to remember ALL the people who have died.

It is to remember and honor those who died fighting in wars and serving our country.

An uncle and aunt of mine will be in town, and I’ll hang out with them.

I'm taking  flowers to my parents grave. Then I'm going fishing...something I did with them every summer.

I'll be working on Memorial day so I have no plans to do anything special.

Cemetery Visit.  It's the only honorable thing to do this weekend.

Hoping to get all the flowers and vegetable planted this weekend.  Have had too many days of rain were we have not been able to plant this year.

I visited my Father's grave yesterday then we brought my Mom to our house to visit.  She lives in Iowa, we live in Minnesota.
