I was cash crate and cashed out only once before they shut down. It's too bad that Earning Station is closed down now and I hope there will be more and better paid to click sites to come up in their places. I think the nature of PTC sites is such that doesn't lend to them always staying open or being the most reliable. For me the best online earnings site has been amazon mturk so far in terms of the fastest way to make income. Plus with the amazon name behind them I don't see them closing down anytime soon.

I was accepted to Amazon Turk but decided against it when they asked for my social security number before I could even start working.  And then if you read the fine print any 10-99 will come from the individual that sends out the job not Amazon.  SO they pass your social security number on to them.  And contrary to what it says on the site the 1099 goes out if you earn $600 not $10,000.  Heck if you could make $10,000 before you had to turn it in nobody would be paying income tax.

Then upon further reading it is like this site where you can do the work and then they can reject your work or answers and you do not get paid.  I still find if laughable they say at the beginning of the survey there are no right or wrong answers but then they can reject your answers if they do not like the way you answer the question.  So obviously there ARE right and wrong answers.
That is what turned me off to the Mturk opportunity when I was looking into it a few years ago.  I don't want to give out my SSN.  There are other earning sites that I'm a member of that don't ask for that piece of personal information.  I'm comfortable with what I've been doing.

It's not a good sign that so many sites are feeling the crunch an closing down...
I think it's just a natural weeding the garden effect, so it's good for me. Every time one gets shutdown it means that many dumped members are looking for a better way and become prime prospects for Fusioncash (if they live in the USA or Canada)

You have to apply like a job.  And you have to give your social security number for tax purposes right off the bat before you can start "working".

i wonder why so many sites are shutting down. I lost money when cash crate closed.

If the site does not make money it will close.  There have been sites open for years that have closed.  It is like this site, there are a couple that want to get all mad and say this site can never close, but YES it can.  And when more and more things do not work and there are less and less opportunities to make a few coins then it makes you wonder.  One of the biggest ways they make money is through ads on the site and offers. If no one signs up for the offers then they site doesn't make money.  It is easy to understand.

If all you do is the totally free stuff and that is all anybody does then the site will not make as much money.  They do make money off every survey we take. But they make more money when people sign up for offers through their site.  The same with us making money off referrals.

On Cash Crate, we had plenty of time knowing they were closing.  We had 2 months warning.  I worked hard and cashed out the end of the first month. Then I quit because I did not think I could make enough to cash out again before the site closed down.

Some of the sites are also merging. OR basically one sells out to the other.  I think that is part of the deal with Cash Crate.  Or maybe they were just paid to refer people over to the other two sites they sent people to.

For me it wasn't a big deal.  It was harder to make money on it.  Some say they done well on there.  I do better on here and another site than any where else.  If I tried hard I could cash out every month but it took a lot of time.

I never have spread myself thin by signing up on a number of sites.  I didn't see the logic in keeping up with a dozen GPT sites, just speaking for myself.  It seemed like it would take up more of my time to do that.  I guess I've lucked out by concentrating on the few that have survived thus far.

That is what turned me off to the Mturk opportunity when I was looking into it a few years ago.  I don't want to give out my SSN.  There are other earning sites that I'm a member of that don't ask for that piece of personal information.  I'm comfortable with what I've been doing.

If you go over $600 you will have to give it to this site.  I have provided it to one site that I went over on.  That would not be a big deal. But from what I gathered Amazon Turk gives the social to the person actually paying.  So anybody who puts a job on Amazon Turk would get your SS# if they ask for it.

So then you would need to go over $600 with each contributor or even $1 if they choose to turn it in.  They can if they pay you.

And they were saying you have to make over $10,000 before it has to be turned in which did not make sense because that is not true.  Too much just did not add up so I opted against it.
If there ever comes a time where I go over $600.00, I would gladly give the necessary information.  As of right now, I stay under the radar so there is no need to give my SSN.

The vast majority of members on any of my earning sites are not earning $600.00 a year.  Most of the sites I work are not set up for that unless there is a referral program with an active down line.
