New plants (landscaping)

Yippee it is raining which is great because I have new plants and I am unable to water them myself due to my mobility issues.  So I am happy for the rain.  What is the weather like where you are?

Right now it is windy and cool. the wind makes it  feel colder.  Too early here in the high desert  of N. M.  Most of us  wait almost another month to  plant.  We could have another cold snap or  2 even. Have seen it snow some here in  the  first part of May. Then it turns hotter then  heck.  So  of course it is hit or miss for a while.  The cold snap last week got all of the fruit tress and they were  blooming so  good. But so  far the Pecan tree blooms are still there.

We never buy new plants till after Mothers Day.  I live in Ohio,,  It could snow in May !!!!   Today its 80 and tomorrow it isn't suppose to get any higher then 50.  buying plants now is not an option.  they would just die.

We had temperatures in the eighties on Wednesday (Colorado), Snow on Thursday and Friday with sixties and seventies on Saturday and Sunday. I anticipate at least one more snow storm so we will not be putting flowers out for another few weeks. My daughter graduates from college on May tenth and I expect that the storms will be reduced to rain at that time which will be perfect for planting all kinds of flowers. When the weather is nice I will be putting up lattice around my deck. This is kind of a gross job as it involves crawling under the deck-all kinds of spider nests, dead snake skin and rotted leaves...bleccchh. Good thing I love my family! I also have to get my waterfall cleaned out and running. So much to do in the net three to four weeks.

It has been in the high 60's to mid 80's for the last couple of weeks.  We have put several plants in our garden already, most of the flowers we have just keep coming back year after year...our roses are already looking gorgeous.  When we lived in Colorado we seemed to always get a snow storm in late May when they were calving and the baby sheep were coming.   But Not here in Southern California.

Today it is 40  outside, on Thursday it was in the high 70 and mowing grass.

Love the rain for my plants.  Right now it is breezy and a little cool for Florida.  Beautiful weather.

I like the rain also to water the plants and grass. However, we have had enough for now. I am wondering if my yard will ever dry out.

Same here in Illinois.  Mother's day weekend is always about planting.  In the mid 70's today but suppose to drop and rain all week so not worth wasting money until it later in spring

We're done with snow, I think. You can't be to sure in the upper midwest.  It was in the 70's yesterday and today.   Rain tomorrow. I agree...watering the landscaping and garden can be a big job.

Today it was actually pretty nice with Michigan weather. It was cloudy but it was 55F. Can't wait for 70s though.

Free watering is so great isn't it! We are starting to heat up here in the desert. Trying to keep it in perspective because although it's already uncomfortably warm compared to winter there are still another 30 degrees to climb til it's really time to complain

Middle Tennessee keeps going back and forth between Spring and Winter!  It has been raining a lot here.  It's hard to find a window of opportunity to plant things in the garden. But once we get seeds or plants in the ground, we are thankful to have the rains come.
