That's going to hurt a lot of people who takes one a day daily hope there is  a work-around soon for this kind of things.

Has anyone heard that taking a low dose asprin a day is no longer recommended?

I have been doing it for over a decade because my diabetes doctor said I should, but now I am wondering if I should look into stopping.

I had not heard this until yesterday while having lunch with friends. Someone said it is not recommended anymore to take an aspirin per day.

It seems everything that's recommended today is tomorrow told to be unsafe. Who knows?  :dontknow:

Maybe they are just now (stupid as they are) realizing that taking this every day is damaging to your kidneys, liver, or other organs.

My mother is always taking aspirin. I guess depending on the dose, you should be ok.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

This is interesting.  Yesterday I took my 84 year old mother to the eye Dr. for an eye treatment.  Upon arriving we were filling out her paperwork.  She takes 2 baby aspirin each night.  She said it's for blood thinning.  I found this interesting as I had once been on cumidin for a blood clot.  And for years as a child she gave me baby aspirin for fevers.

According to the news things have changed there.  I have put it on my list of questions for my next cardiology visit.

My rheumatologist and my cardiologist have me on a 325 mg a day.   It keeps me off of Warfarin.

My dad has high blood pressure and his doctor has him on a baby asprin once a day to reduce heart attacks.  It's honestly hard to know with everything changing but, your doctor would know the best.

Depends on the doctor.  You can go to 3 different doctors for the exact same thing and get 3 totally different meds or suggestions on what you should do.

I would take what the doctor said with a grain of salt and do my own research and see if I agreed with what he said.  Like I said previously, I had a doctor give me something and I questioned him about it because of the warnings I had seen on TV and he got really mad at me.  In a few months that med had been pulled from shelves and is now banned in the US because it was causing heart attacks.  I never took it.  He gave me a 30 day supply free to see if it helped.  I brought it home and threw it in the trash.

That is a decent idea but thats easy if you find out its good for you then cool but I would focus on more of getting the right daily recommend intake of things even though some of them seem a little hard to get or off balanced realistically and theyre not totally necessary to get that much Its a good idea to strive twards that mkay.  :P

I have been doing it for over a decade because my diabetes doctor said I should, but now I am wondering if I should look into stopping.

I had not heard that the daily aspirin has been rethought and no longer recommended.  I wonder what has changed in the medical circles that caused this change.

I'd be talking with my personal doctor and get his opinion.  Stopping taking it after a decade plus doesn't seem wise.....at least not if stopped abruptly.
