I knew this fool <countrygirl>would eventually lead up to bashing the JWs with this post.

I have mentioned that the last people they are told to witness to are people such as CG.

I dont doubt there may be exceptions to the rulz with an individual, but in this case this is clearly and example to bash them.CG has seen the interest in bible topic that is presented by JW.org.

She will get her chance to bash God in her due time and her LAST time!!!

Sneakily she trys to make it look like sales calls.Seriously in this day and age who go to door trying to sell you a vacuum? She used that format to eventually bash the JWs.Go read her last post how she has to tell us her distain and her lies about Gods people and gain members to join her foolishness.

A bit of advice.....to all.............if you dont support God...remain neutral.....God will judge her.

I generally do not open the door if I don't know who it is.  Plus, the dog has a melt down and barks his head off so I wouldn't be able to hear what they are saying anyway.

I have a German Shepherd mix so if they see him barking at the Bay window they usually just keep walking past my house anyway.

lol.  My brother's dogs go in sane when somebody comes to the door.  They bark if I go to the door.  The will let me in when they see me and realize they know me.  But I think they would rip somebody apart if they tried to force entry.

Most of the time I just answer the door.  Unless I'm having a bad day, or am still in my pj's.

I can look out my bedroom window or through the small window of my front door but if I'm not expecting anyone I don't even answer the door.  Usually it's someone soliciting something.  I see them go to the next house and so on.

See I don't get that.  I can understand not opening the door.  But I cannot grasp going to the door with an attitude.  There is a new home being set up in my neighborhood.  I was the only one connected to the pole that the new neighbor will also be on now.  The electric company had to turn MY power off to set the new pole.  They were nice enough to come talk to me before they shut me down for a couple of hours.  A man knocks on my door, no I did not know him, but why smart off with I don't want anything from you or have anything to give you.  Wait and see what they want.  And maybe you do that before you get irritated.

We do not have many door to door salesmen.  I would not call this person a salesman really but I guess he was.  Not like the vacuum cleaner sales people.

There was a group of men from a church a couple summers ago walked up the road and were inviting people to come to church.  I was not home and as I pulled up the driveway I saw them walking on up the road.  They left a paper on my front porch and a neighbor told me who they were.

I guess I just don't see people getting so upset because someone knocks on their door or even calls their phone before they even know who it is.

I am too short to see out of my peep hole and my neighborhood AND my front door has a no soliciting sign but people ignore both.  I am going to get this thing called ring that brings up the view of who is at your front door on your phone but to be honest the only people who come to the door (my younger son or his girlfriend have keys)  i would only get because my older son refuses to carry a key and sometimes people bring him home from work.

I thought about getting that.  I think it is expensive though.  It would be nice.  You can even answer it when you are not there.  Someone was with my mom the other day and a deliver guy came to the door.  He answered the RING like he was home and told him he could not come to the door at the moment and ask that he bring the package back the next day.

Like I said, I have no problem with not answering the door.  I have done the same thing (like the other day) lol but if I don't know who it is I may go and ask thru the door "who is it".  Doesn't mean I have to answer.  But I am not going to yell at somebody or call the law before I know what is going on.

The RING would have been nice a year or so ago when my neighbor's stupid kid wanted to play the ding dong ditch game.  She just didn't know the door bell did not work. But I did hear her stomp up the steps and I did see her run back down next door and across the street.

I might open the door, but the  screen door is locked and  a can of  wasp spray right by the  door.  Yep it works.  Never open the door to a stranger I say.

A can of wasp spray by the door?  Are you seriously that scared of life?  I would not open the door if I had to think I was going to have to potentially blind anyone who comes to the door.

There could be a legit reason some one you do not know could knock on your door.  Ignoring them altogether would be better than opening the door and getting scared and blinding them or causing serious medical problems for life.

That reminds me of the young girl who had wrecked her car in the middle of the night, and NO she did not have a cell phone, and she went to a near by house and knocked on the door trying to get help.  The idiot MAN did not even open the door he just SHOT thru the door killing her standing on his front porch.  Because she did not have any right to be on his porch or knock on his door. smh

They didn't say they open the door and immediately wasp spray every stranger without even asking what they want...

Anyway, you could always put a wasp label on a squirt bottle of water :p

I answer and let the person talk whenever applicable. If I don’t think what the person is addressing concerns me, I just say, “No, thank you,” shut the door, and walk away.

I don't answer phone numbers that I don't recognize and occasionally I won't answer the door if I don't recognize the person. Any time I do I usually regret it because it is a salesman.

My point is why do you need wasp spray by your door to spray people who may come to the door.  That tells me you are easy to scare and could spray someone who was just either asking for help, bringing you something, or had a legit reason to be there.

Two things - first a few years ago an elderly couple went in to our local Lowe's and purchased 2 cases of wasp spray for the SOLE PURPOSE of using like mace if someone came to their home and they felt threatened.  If you are that scared then you will be easily scared.  Just because a stranger knocks on your door doesn't mean they want to steal from you, or are trying to sell you something.  You do not have to let them in your home and I do not blame anyone for not doing that. BUT you could listen to them and call 911 if they need help.

Second, it has been a while but an elderly person in my home town who did not have a lot someone came to her home and dropped off a box of food.  She did not know them.  What if these people trying to do a good deed had been met with gun fire and died on the porch or shot in the face with wasp spray and ended up blind because they were trying to do something good for someone.

Like I said, I don't open the door if i do not know the person. But I usually will go to the door and ask thru the door who they are.

It is sad that we are to a point in this world that you absolutely cannot trust anyone any more.  :(

And if it is someone with ill intentions they deserve wasp spray in the face. lol

Do you really have that many sales people come to your door.  I have lived on my current street most of my life.  And I remember one time a sales person coming thru here.  ONE TIME.  And then there were some JW came thru once when I was a kid.  My dad told them if he listened to them they had to listen to him. lol.  They were not interested in what he had to say about the Bible so they left.  And I have never seen them in our neighborhood other than that one time.

There was some foreigner came thru once claiming to be selling magazine subscriptions to she could go to college.  Then her buddy came thru right after.  I sent them packing.  But that is the only time I can remember anything like that.  I kind of thought door to door sales people was a thing of the past.  There were a couple selling vacuums when I was a kid.  Anybody remember the Rainbow Vacuum? lol  My friend's family bought one.

Maybe our street just looks scary?  Idk.

My neighbor has NO SOLICITING signs up every where.  Everybody laughs at her.
