That's a good question... it would be interesting to find out how they get their stats. Perhaps call the school directly & ask them what information they are using for their classification of a "Flu Epidemic" what sources are they using -- but if the schools are closed, I guess there would be no one there at the school.
The kids were out for maybe a couple days. I think some of the staff worked. Who ever answered the phone would not know. The idiot who used the term incorrectly would not be accessible. Funny thing is he also said they had an absent rate of 5%. That is not that many kids or teachers to be absent.
Like I said, I am interested in knowing the stats for the numbers for other diseases such as Hepatitis and AIDS.
That should be public information. You don't have to tell WHO has it. Someone who was at the health department supposedly say a paper that was left out that had the number of AIDS cases in our county and it was baffling.
I think it is sad that people with deadly diseases like AIDS or Hepatitis can work in health care, food preparation, or where ever - and they are a risk to other people.
I know this information is available. I just do not know where to find it. Like I said, I would have thought the CDC would be a good place to look. But I could not find anything.
I have heard there are confirmed cases of Measles in my area as well.
