Trick Questions on Exams in School

Have you ever taken a test in any school that had at least one trick question (but not nothing but that type for every question)? I remember a time when a question on a test I took had a multiple choice question that asked, “Which of the following statements is false?” The correct answer was none of them (and I’m not sure if that was an option).

I don't remember if tests in school had trick questions on them.  I think that sometimes, I thought too hard when reading the question/s which made me think the question was written to trick people.
Overall, I think test questions are meant to test the knowledge of the material rather than to see if the questions can trick the test taker.

I remember one time there was an exam given and the directions were over a page long and the test itself was multiple choice. Most people jumped right to the questions. However if you read the whole directions it said somewhere in there: hand this in without answering any of the questions if you want an A. Pays to read the directions.

I think a trick question would be a good idea it shows that you’re paying attention and that you have studied what you were supposed to be taking the test on and you are not cheating by hiding the answers or something like that I think trick questions are OK and they should be there to test your brain

I remember once we read a short story and then answered questions. One of the questions was
*Christopher Columbus discovered America
   True
   False
   The story does not say

Every one of the students put TRUE.  And every one of us were marked wrong.  Because although that is what the short story was about the story did not actually have a line in it that said Christopher Columbus discovered America.

But if it takes you longer to answer questions and it is multiple choice and the page and a half of directions seem pointless most people will just start answering the questions. I don't see what stuff like that is suppose to prove.

You obvious do not understand what a trick question is.  You can study the material and not be a cheater and still fall victim to a "trick question".  Ref my previous post.  The statement Christopher Columbus discovered America is true.  There were more than one questions like that.  The test was short.  So if you miss too many you failed.  And I am talking like maybe 2 questions. Oh let's take it a step further - this was one of them jack wagon teachers that paddled everyone who failed the test.  Like she had a right to do that. 

Trick questions do not teach a child anything.  I also do not think the questions should be worded with double negatives and in ways you really do not know what they are asking.  I have seen that on pre-employment tests as well.  Just because you can beat the test doesn't mean you will make a good employee.

WHAT???  That hurts my head.  I have no idea what you are even asking.  Yes, I think if you have to smoke pot once a week you have a drug problem. NO, I do not smoke pot. But i have no idea how to answer your stupid question!
