Anyone out of work
« on: October 07, 2009, 12:43:10 pm »
I have been for about 1 1/2.  I can't find a job to save my life and it really bothers me.  I used to make decent money and wonder if i'll ever make that again, or if i'll have to settle.  I can't believe the economy we are in and have been for quite some time.

I'll be out for a year starting next month. It's a b-word. I'm planning on just going back to school and hiding out there till things get better.

I have been out of work for about 14 months.  I live in a state that has one of the higher rates of unemployment.  I wonder also if/when I will be ever able to make the salary I was making before.  I probably will have to settle for much less.  I know of people who have had to settle for much less.  You just have to learn to live on less.  This is going to go on for years. This is not going away any time soon. There have been and will be lasting changes because of this turmoil that we are in.

I live in Michigan. Ya i know the state with the higest unemployment rate. There are jobs in my area so far i havent been able to get any that i have applied for. Right now i would take anything as long as i could pay off bills. We arent hurting with my hubbies income. We will live but me getting a job would make things much easier. I tried opening my own online business but so far that hasnt brought in too much money.

maybe i'm just lucky, but when i quit my job
to move, i found another job within three weeks.
i mean, i'm not making a career out of it, but it
sure does pay the bills.

with my experience, i have to wonder if people
are really doing everything they can -- including
settling for just a cashier or something  :dontknow:

[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

its just so missed up that people who are CEO's of companies make so so much and at the same time they have to let go a lot of their employees.  i heard now employers are trying to find cheap work and someone to do more duties instead of having someone for every position.  messed up world!
