How far back should these background attacks on someone go? This happened in college. A different time and a different era. Same with Judge Kavanaugh. They went all the way back to high school. Ridiculous!!! 

I think anything done as a teen or college-age adult should be ignored (unless it's criminal) because most "kids" aren't thinking of their future.  They grow up when they get their first job and get into the REAL world.  From that time on I think the background could be used for attacking a politician.

I agree that this particular incident should not be grounds for dismissal.  However, upon further reflection, I believe his stance from the previous day regarding abortion (especially as a pediatrician) makes him a great candidate for the Hall of Shame.  :-[

I would think as a pediatrician he would have a clear understanding of when and why some abortions are necessary. 
I also think that his stance on abortion is WHY the blackface photo came out now, rather than earlier.
