OMG!!  Does anyone in the south/southwest have this airbag?  It gets over 100 degrees in the cars here!! 

Tens of millions of vehicles with Takata air bags are under recall. Long-term exposure to high heat and humidity can cause these air bags to explode when deployed. Such explosions have caused injuries and deaths.
 
NHTSA urges vehicle owners to take a few simple steps to protect themselves and others from this very serious threat to safety.

More Takata air bags have been recalled. The recalls, in 2019 and 2020, involve Takata air bags built with non-azide driver inflators (NADI), and are separate from the much larger and ongoing Takata air bag inflator safety recalls.

Description:

This recall involves the Magic Chef Air Fryer Digital Air Fryer oven with model numbers MCAF56DB (black) and MCAF56DW (white). Magic Chef is printed on the top of the fryers and the rating label on the bottom has the brand name Magic Chef along with the model number. The air fryers measure about 13 inches by 15 inches by 14 inches.

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and provide a picture of the rating label to the firm to receive instructions to disable the air fryer and receive a refund in the form of a newair.com credit. The credit amount will be $50 or the amount on the purchase receipt if higher. No receipt is needed to get the $50 credit. Consumers can also register to participate in the recall at https://www.newair.com/pages/recall-registration.

    Do You Use Dry Shampoo?

October 18, 2022 - Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey - Unilever United States today issued a voluntary product recall to the consumer level of select lot codes of dry shampoo aerosol products produced prior to October 2021 from Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head), and TRESemmue to potentially elevated levels of benzene.

Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen. Exposure to benzene can occur by inhalation, orally, and through the skin and it can result in cancers including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow and blood disorders which can be life threatening. Benzene is ubiquitous in the environment. Humans around the world have daily exposures to it indoors and outdoors from multiple sources.

Based on an independent health hazard evaluation, daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products at the levels detected in testing would not be expected to cause adverse health consequences. Unilever U.S. is recalling these products out of an abundance of caution. Unilever has received no reports of adverse events to date relating to this recall.

Hazard:
The recalled products may contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems or external medical devices who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.

Thousands of toddler sippy cups and bottles are recalled over lead poisoning risk

The November recall applies to the Green Sprouts 6-ounce Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, Sip & Straw Cup and its 8-ounce Stainless Steel Straw Bottle.

WASHINGTON — Green Sprouts, a maker of reusable baby products sold at chain retailers including Whole Foods and Bed Bath & Beyond, is recalling its stainless-steel cups and bottles over a lead poisoning hazard.

The voluntary recall, issued last week, affects about 10,500 units, according to an alert on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website. The recall applies to the Green Sprouts 6-ounce Stainless Steel Sippy Cup, Sip & Straw Cup and its 8-ounce Stainless Steel Straw Bottle.

The bottom base of the products can break off, exposing a solder dot that contains lead, according to the CPSC. Lead is a toxic metal that can cause poisoning if ingested by children.

The CPSC said it had received seven reports of incidents of the base detaching and exposing the solder dot, but that no injuries have been reported.

Green Sprouts said it voluntarily recalled its products after it was made aware that the sippy cups and bottles contained lead.

“Testing of this component was omitted by the CPSC-approved third party lab because this part of the product is inaccessible under normal use,” the company said on its website. “As we approach the redesign of these products, whose benefits for keeping drinks cold safely have made them a popular choice for parents, we will ensure that lead is not used as a soldering material.”

The tracking codes printed at the bottom of the recalled products are 29218V06985, 35719V06985 and 33020V06985. They were sold between January 2020 and September 2022.

Most intentional uses of lead in products are banned in the U.S., according to the Food and Drug Administration, “including the use of lead solder to seal the external seams of metal cans.” Due to lead’s non-biodegradable nature, the metal can contaminate the food supply.

Lead is poisonous to all ages, but the metal is particularly harmful to children, according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Lead exposure in children can cause a range of adverse health effects including developmental delays and learning disabilities.

Samsung is recalling several models of top-load washers that can short-circuit and overheat, posing a fire hazard.

According to a news release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Samsung has received 51 reports of smoking, melting, overheating or fire involving the washers, 10 of which resulted in property damage. Three consumers have reported injuries due to smoke inhalation.

The washers were sold in white, black, champagne and ivory colors at Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe's and other appliance stores nationwide and online at Samsung.com from June 2021 through December 2022 for between $900 and $1,500.
