I have had some really stupid comments made to me. When clearly they had no idea what they were talking about.

Someone with 4 legs stole my stopper and I don't know what he done with it.

After much hoopla, and four stoppers later, that was the problem with mine.  The stopper he installed doesn't fit the sink.  So, new stopper, adjust the connections, and voila! No more leak.

Question everything.  When in doubt, do some research.  Makes sense to me.

That's what I asked him.  He said they're only supposed to be used for washing your hands or shaving, so you really don't need them to hold water. 
I asked him if that was the case, why bother with a stopper at all?  Or a sink, for that matter.

I feel sorry for other people who may hire that person and he tells them a bunch malarkey like that.  He obviously does not know what he is doing.  He needs to be retrained and does he have a license giving out wrong info like that.

Sinks aren't supposed to hold water?

That's what my maintenance man said.

I had a cracked pipe in the faucet, and water was pouring out underneath the sink. 
He replaced the faucet and the pipes underneath, and no more leak. 
Except when I filled the sink, the water drained out. 

He said it's all right, that bathroom sinks aren't supposed to hold water.
