Netflix rate increase
« on: January 23, 2019, 12:06:22 pm »
I saw that Netflix is having a rate increase it looks like it nominal so I'm not overly worried about it.  It certainly is way less than Cable which I haven't had since my hubby passed in 2013.  Do you have cable? I have Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and some add ons to Amazon Prime like Acorn Tv because I like the BBC crime shows.

:)     ;D      :)   Prices keep increasing like they don't make enough money with what they get from us every month. Kinda sad though. I don't pay for cable, cause most of the time not a lot is on cable/ television most of the time.

We have Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.  We haven't had cable for years.

Plus a lot of people are dumping them so they have to make the money up.  Didn't they join forces, quietly, with some other company recently?

I don't pay for cable because I only watch some shows and I don't like to be made to watch politically correct crap. Like lifetime and oxygn.

I have had Netflix for many years, but after our next vacation (next month) I am going to try the lower cost YouTube Premium and may drop Netflix if I like it better.

I had Netflix many years ago when I got a month free, but never paid for it after that. If I could conect my computer to my tv I would probably get it again, but its too much stress on my eyes trying to watch a movie on small screen

I haven't had cable for years and enjoy Netflix, but I think they are trying to get greedy. People may become curious about other streaming sites if they keep increasing their price.

I don't mind the price hike, as long as Netflix keeps creating great shows, like Stranger Things, Ozark, and Glow. I pay for Sling, Netflix (streaming and dvd) and Amazon, and all together it's around $65/mo. Still way cheaper than cable or satellite.

There are several solutions like Chromecast and Miracast that can show your computer or phone screen on your TV

Or you can get a Roku for your TV and won't need to use the computer.

Roku doesn't have a web browser, so there are some things you can't show.

I've noticed the increase in rates. I think this is because of the increase in original content that they are offering and need funds to support that endeavor.

I keep aaaalmost dumping Netflix but then finding like 1 more thing I'd like to check out first, and then before I know it another billing cycle rolls around.
