Amazon is great

Amazon is going to take over the world some day. I really like using the service but it is a little scary.

LOL How are they going to take over the world?  That is the same thing people said about Walmart.

Smaller companies will always be bought out by larger ones. That is how it works. Or companies merge. So eventually you have no competition.  You have one company that controls the market.  Personally, I like Amazon. And nobody locally can beat Walmart on prices.

It is never wise for there to be a monopoly or a single company that controls the market or a large part of it.  When one company calls the shots, think what they can do then.  Price gauging and less sustainable practices are among the issues.  They are also under less pressure to provide competitive benefits and raises to their employees. They also put a hardship on small business which is at the heart of America's entrepreneurial economy.  All in all, anything or anyone that grows too big for their britches has too much influence and can do what they want more.

I have heard a ton of people talking great about it.  I do order from Amazon, but not a whole lot.  I just haven't taken that plunge.  Maybe I should look more into it.

I agree thaat Amazon is great. There are great deals but you also have to know your prices to see if you are getting a great deal.

I like amazon but I find some things on there are more than other places. I do have prime and I love the movies they provide

Yes I totally agree.  I had and still have Netflix but I tried out Amazon Prime because I needed to order something and because I wanted to see what was available on the video and I LOVE IT. I understand that Netflix is going to have an increase and although it seems like it will be nominal I never get on Netflix anymore always Amazon Prime so am thinking about canceling it.

i like amazon but have never tried prime. because like others have said i dont use it enought for free shipping to be worth it. i wish i could use my amazon gift cards to pay for this and then maybe i would use it.

So you basically said the same thing I did.  I totally understand how it works. But I am not going to pay 3-4 times the price for something at a local mom n pop shop when I can get it a lot cheaper at Amazon or Walmart.  Nothing you do is going to change what is happening.  And eventually everything will be owned by one anyway.  In my smaller town we have Walmart, Dollar General (which has really expensive prices) and a Dollar Tree.  That is IT.  I shop at Walmart.

We have FedEx and UPS and USPS.  The FedEx and UPS has really went downhill as far as customer service.  The last thing I ordered FedEx destroyed.  So I had to wait an extra I think 4 days to get my stuff.  They sent it back to the company I ordered from themselves telling them it was destroyed in transit.  Both companies blamed each other.

But if it is not shipped from Amazon you do not get the 2 day shipping.  And a lot of people are saying it doesn't come in 2 days anyway.  So I would be leery of paying that much for it.  Plus it ticks me off that they raised the price and then they have little groups they give discounts to.  Why not have everyone pay the same price and everyone could pay around $75.  Because "somebody" is paying for the discounts that others are getting.

I purchased Amazon Prime last year. Paid the price for the whole year. Renew is coming up in March and I will probably renew it. I am pleased.

SOOOOO if you have Amazon Prime can you watch popular movies that are recently at the theater for free with the Amazon Prime script or do you still have to pay for it?  I am talking about movies like the Incredibles 2 and stuff like that.
