    Travel time:
    Freeways are fast...but "risky".
I do both depending on my risk assessment.

I suppose it depends on where you live but, I always prefer the highways, interstates to side streets and going through towns.

When I lived 25 miles  from work  the freeway went right by the house with easy on-ramp. But you had to do an interchange half way there and that is where the bottlenecks  would  happen. so I always drove under the freeway and took the streets (2) several stop lights but if you were good you could go all the way through without stopping. Timing was great and I could get to work rather quickly. Most time I  beat those who work  at the same mall  by 10-15 minutes. But they insisted on the freeway.

I think it depends on what freeway I am taking because I don't like driving on freeways when there are like 8 different lanes. Sometimes I don't like taking the streets either because of all the stopping and going and it burns more gas.

I check WAZE too, to see the quickest route anywhere I go.  I like freeway driving unless it is jsut stop and go.

I no longer work but it is more convenient to use the interstate most of the time.

:menorah:   :santa:   :snowflake: I drive both freeways and streets. Some days are faster than other days. If some have an accident. I just deal with it. Plus I have time to leave early for work, not a huge rush for me to get there.  :menorah:  :santa:  :snowflake:

Regardless of where I'm driving I prefer streets the freeways. On freeway with people drive way too fast. I tend to drive locally and am almost in the country. :present: :peace:

I'm too scared to drive on the freeway & avoid it as much as possible. When I have to I'm always on the slow side of the road when forced to drive on freeway.

If I need to be somewhere in a hurry. I'll take the freeway. Otherwise I take the highway.

I no longer work but I take the freeway or the street depending on a variety of factors.  For instance, it depends on where I'm going, weather, traffic conditions, how much time I have to get there, and my mood at the moment. I don't mind using the freeway in my area. but in some places I wouldn't get on the freeway if you paid me unless I had to.

Thanks heavens, I am retired and don't have to drive to work. But when I did work, my job was about 2 miles from the house and required only street driving which wasn't bad at all. Except for that one street I had to take went over a train track, so sometimes there was a big backup delay due to that.
