I do not think you can. I have previously posted a thread about it. You can go back and find it and read all the comments.  You can get those channels on packages you pay for.  I would only use it for the free stuff.

I work with a girl that swears she can watch anything is any app for free.  So I told her either she is lying or she has one that is unlocked like the fire sticks (and is illegal) and allows you to watch anything in the world for free.

I'm buying a used roku from a friend for $15. I don't even have a t.v. to connect it to yet.  LOL.  But I figured for $15 dollars that's a deal.  So since I don't have a t.v. I wonder what kind I should be looking at?

The TV needs to have an HDMI port unless the ROKU you are buying has the red, yellow, and white cables.

Sorry, but you would need cable or an antenna for them. However, you can watch episodes of the shows they run after the fact. For example I really enjoy watching Blue Bloods, so In can watch the current shows on Cable (in real time) or previous episodes on Netflix (with no commercials).

Actually several of the apps do include these channels you just have to pay a monthly fee.  For example the CBS ALL ACCESS includes the CBS channel.

I love my roku. I have had it about 3 years and am thinking about getting another for the main tv

We have Roku and use i all the time for Netflix and Pandora.  Otherwise,  I have had problems finding stations that have much that's worth watching.

I've heard good things. I'm thinking about breaking down and getting Netflix just because there's so little to watch on network tv anymore. It's depressing how bad television has gotten.

Don't overlook getting a new TV that has Roku built in as an option. I know my next TV will have it.

My husband and I had gotten a Roku a long time ago.  We tinkered around with it for a short while; just enough to know that it was well worth the very reasonable price.

We had all but forgotten about it until just that past couple of weeks.  Now we are very much back on board with it and are loving the options.

We are about to cut the Cable.  i have purchase Amazon Fire Sticks and my hubby purchased and Antenna for the local channels.  I have found a few apps that you can use and watch also my daughter already pays for Netflix and Hulu so my cable will be gone by the end of the year and cannot wait for it.  FIOS has been giving us a few problems with transmission in the past 2 weeks and I think is because they want us to renew the contract which will not happen.

If I understand correctly...
You can watch local channels through a Roku TV using an antenna, but not through a Roku device. That being said, you don't need a Roku TV for this, because you can just connect your antenna directly to your tv.

No it is not true, unless you want to pay extra subscription fees. However in most areas you can use a digital antenna for local stations.
