Sadly this goes on everywhere. I live in a tiny town 4000 people, there is one store (we have 2 grocery stores) that repackages their chicken if its sat packaged in the showcase a few days and is at expiration date, by dunking it in a bleach mixture, then repackage it. I was told this by someone who worked there at one point.

I try not to think that all stores with meat cases do this :(

Wow.  My town is def more populated than that but we just do not have any stores.  Looks like that could kill somebody.

I called Corporate and he said he will be contacting the store immediately after the call.  He was upset. I told him about other incidents and that there seem to be a problem with the meat department and understanding the gloves are not to protect their hands but the food they are handling.  He said there did need to be some retraining.  That just sounds foolish though but he seemed to take me seriously.  I told him if that happens out in the public I cannot even imagine what goes on in the back. And he said he had worked in the field of inspector and health inspector and that type for years and you would be surprised what goes on. I told him no sadly I most likely would not lol.  But since I cannot grow my own food and milk my own cow I just have to trust God won't let me die from some idiots poor choices. And the people who handle your / our food are getting more and more evil.

That is disgusting, thats why I don't buy anything unpackaged.

But most of the meats are packaged in the stores unless you purchase it frozen and you don't know what happened to it there either. :(

Same thing you did call the manager and maybe corporate.  That is why I wash all my meat when I get it.

I did. I called the manager Saturday and I called Corporate today. I told him I am not trying to get this person fired I just want it stressed to her that people do not want snot on her glove and then her handling their food.

My sister and I went to Wendy’s last year,  and I ordered a salad.  I had ate about 1/2 and noticed something black and shiny in it.  I dug around the salad and pulled out a 2 inch black plastic/rubber foot of some kind.  I immediately called it to the manager who said it probably fell from the machine above where they make the salads.  Her concern level was zero.  Lucky I had taken pictures from my phone before I gave the salad back.  Yes, she comped the order but it was like no big deal on her part.  I did notify corporate, send the pictures and told what the manager said.  They told me they were very sorry, would look into it, and sent me a bunch of coupons.

That seems to be the norm.  Oh we are sorry and we will retrain and that is the end of it.  I think this guy knew I meant business.  If I ever see anything like that again I will just file a report with the health department.

I probably wouldn't have done anything.  I probably wouldn't have seen it as I try to avoid the fish smell and stay away from it.  However, just to play devil's advocate, maybe she just had an itch and there was no snot.  I would probably do something similar without even thinking about it.

While a large part of the world starves, many of us should be grateful we can still walk in a store and buy food.

Jesus marked the "Last days"there would be food shortages.Much food is stored where it can feed the hungry.Another crime against human government.

Many feel as long as i am not affected why should i worry about it.

I saw the gas shortage crisis in 1974.It wasnt pretty.Could you imagine a food or water crisis?

Critical times hard to deal with were told from long ago and they are here.

If she wasn't aware of her actions, she should be told. If she doesn't care, she should be fired.  It's a miracle any of us are still alive.  I hope this is grammatically correct hitch0403

That's about as bad as cashiers/baggers who lick their fingers to separate bags. Unless it's more than I can fit in my arms, I say I don't need a bag...  ::) Unless I've remembered to bring my reusable bags...

Either way you do not wipe your nose on your hand when you are handling other people's food.

You should have reported it to the local health department.

I talked to the store manager.  And also the corporate health codes manager and he assured me he would take care of it and that it looks like they do need to do some re-training. lol.  I told him I hate that word.  But I feel it will be taken care of.

If she wasn't aware of her actions, she should be told. If she doesn't care, she should be fired.  It's a miracle any of us are still alive.  I hope this is grammatically correct hitch0403

lol.  hitch is just seeking attention.  I blocked him so I don't even know what he said.  Don't care either. He is a troll and a troublemaker. He just looks for a fight. He disagrees with everything I say but replies to all my comments.  SMH LOL Having said that...

Maybe she wasn't but yes she needs to be told and most likely will be embarrassed that she has to be talked to about this.  You would probably never eat again if you saw the back side of what happens when your food is prepared.

I see that as well but don't think as much about it.  I have thought at times it is kind of gross.  The last time I took reusable bags and we had canned food she loaded the bags to about 50 pounds.  She put 3 layers of canned food across the entire bottom.  Just because it will FIT does not mean it should. We had several bags.
