Gift Delimma

I have received several gifts from my 2 best friends (we exchange birthdays and Christmas).  Some of the gifts are for the house (candle holder, knick knacks, figurines, etc).  They are nice and I honestly like them and love the people who gave them.  My question is how long must i display them?  I hate to put them away, but I bought other things I want to display  Is a year long enough?

I guess it depends.  How often do they come over etc.  Regardless this is a good time of year for them to disappear.  You have to make room for the holiday decorations.

Well just always thank them and show them the gifts than tell them that try to keep them the way it was given

If you have had them out and about and your friends have been over to your home with an opportunity to see them, casually state at some point that you have so many things to display that you always have to store some away and rotate them during the year!

I agree with Bigfoot this is the perfect time of year if you'd like to put them away to do so with putting out decorations for the holidays some things have to be put up to make room and then I would just leave them put up after the holidays and just display the things you would like to display

I have many of these types of gift and I what I do is rotate my house decor every few months just for a change.  Also when I know they are going to stop by I try to have a least one item out that was given to me.

I think a year is long enough -  I think you should be able to enjoy your home including how to display and how long to display items -  I mean I put such things away and put up my holiday items and sometimes in-between holidays or down the road I put them back out.  It is hard because you don't want to hurt any one's feelings but next year you are going to get more stuff from them to display right?
