coffee in the computer

Yesterday my spouse spilled coffee on the laptop, not just a little .. a whole mug right on the keyboard.  Thought it was junk.  spent a while drying it out , worked okay but had no cursor/pointer.  restored settings to a few days earlier and so far it's working good, hopefully it will stay working.      Really don't want to have to go out now and get him a new one.

        Glad that the keyboard still works. The more sugar was in that cup of coffee, the more sticky the keys will be for working right. I have drinks around mine, hopefully I don't spill.

I had to get a new keyboard a while back due to sticking and missing keys,my husband and grandkids are very reckless with my computer.

I have had that happen to my Laptop as well. The only difference is that I had to buy a new one. I am so glad that yours is working. Laptops can cost a pretty penny.

I've sadly had that happen before. Coffee spills are a constant danger to PCs. I'm glad to hear yours is still working, a minor miracle.

Oh, no!  I hope it keeps working for you.  I often have a lot of salt in my keyboard.

Wow!  That's like winning the lottery for you!  So glad your drying technique worked so well.  A few years ago, we were taking a trip in hot weather.  I was afraid leaving my laptop in a hot car would be bad for it, so I had the bright idea of keeping it in a cooler with a Ziploc bag full of ice.  Well, you can guess what happened.  The bag leaked, the computer got soaked, and my outcome wasn't as happy as yours.  Beware of liquids and computers!!!

I spilled water on my last one, it worked fine for about a week then started messing up bad. I guess it took a while for the board to start corroding. I hope you have better luck than I did.
