I can't sleep anywhere easily. The older I get, the harder it gets to sleep. I don't have any trouble falling asleep at about 9 p.m., usually while reading a book, but I am up  bright-eyed and bushy tailed at 3 a.m. I don't think it would be very nice to expect someone else in the same hotel room to put up with that sort of thing. Why don't you call Hampton Inns and see what their single rates are? I try to use them whenever I can because the rooms are always spotless, you get free breakfast, and the rates are reasonable.

I sleep fine in hotels, but that's beyond the point here.  You don't have to explain why you don't want to stay with a random lady.  For me, you need to pick a different type of vacation.

Yes, I can sleep in a hotel. When it's time for some shut eye. I shut them :)

I would probably pay the extra and stay in my own room, just to feel more comfortable. As far as sleeping well, I always seem to sleep great while on vacation even in the hotel room because I am usually so exhausted from the day.

I am not really picky as long as it is clean and does not have a funny smell. I don't have to have anything fancy.

SINCE you know this far ahead, go ahead and get the single room, the extra money will probably worth it for your enjoyment of the trip.

Well, you must have been here reading my mind since I posted.  I have decided that if I take this trip I am going to spring the extra money and have rooms to myself.  I think I would be more well rested and less anxious about the evening and getting ready in the morning.  Some things are just worth it!

I know it’s an extra expense, but I would get a single room.  I could not spend the night with a total stranger in a strange hotel room.  I don’t know if you’re married or not, but try asking your husband, or sisters, or friends to go along.  If you can’t find anyone I would definitely would get a single.
