Do you think Bill Cosby should be in jail?

I think that our society's putting Bill Cosby in jail was a ridiculous thing to do. I feel he should be immediately released and sent to a court-ordered psychiatrist. In addition to that, I think he should be required to pay restitution to all persons and groups involved by his formerly problematic behavior. This is because sending him to jail hardly "teaches" him not to continue the bad behavior (which he has probably already figured out by himself) , it requires a lot of tax dollars from me, and does absolutely nothing toward either making him a member of society again once his court ordered stuff has been completed or do anything to make his victims feel better.

Yeah... I don't think he should be in jail either there are so many other options that wouldn't cost the taxpayers $100,000+ a year to house him & all his health ailments.  House arrests & BIG fines & pay for any service the tax payer would be providing him, like supervision, security, ankle bracelet fees, etc... let him stay at home with guards he pays for.  Man is worth $400 million... ridiculous for taxpayers to house this blind, 81-year old in a jail at this point in his life.

Victims can sue him in Civil Court for restitution... more than likely, he'd settle with them out-of-court to avoid the publicity like most company/rich people do.  Good luck to them.

As someone who has dealt with this nonsense growing up, the criminal needs to go to jail. The victim needs justice.

Letting him out and off just encourages this invasion of personal privacy, as the punishment is so easy.....being caught not scary. Psychiatric "care" is a piece of cake for these guys, they get out early, and there is no punishment.

Being a fallen "star" and national icon does not make him better than any other sexual offender.

He plotted, took advantage of his victims, left them to deal with the trauma, and thought he was above the law.

He is a preditor. Was not once, was not twice......even in his old age.

The proven victims need to know that the legal system is there to protect, and get justice for them.

No.  I know some one who went to jail for the same type of crime.  When he got out of prison he did his probation and then within 2 years was back to his old behavior.

Generally prison is considered a deterrent to thoughts of committing the crime again and a means of rehabilitating/
socializing the criminal. I believe, in Cosby's case, that he has been imprisoned to keep the public safe from committing the crime again. To let him out invites Cosby to commit the crime again regardless of ankle bracelets, supervision, urine analysis, etc. He has the money to buy his date rape drugs. It took a long time for the courts to get him in to prison. Cosby, if allowed in public again, could commit the crime and die happily in his own bed as his high priced/paid attorneys keep the courts tied up for another nine years. Cosby has made a great number of people happy with his entertainment skills but all of this is erased with the helpless innocent lives he has ruined.

Yup and on top of the seeing the psychiatrist, all records of all tests should be on public records so this study on this kind of characteristic of the human to be studied and view tips on how to care for insidious traits ... ic we need purrrv-help, goooooosh wish to have dreams with your soul mate is ultimate.      Ohno this can be stolen...

No I do not. I do not believe the allegations against him either. And even if something did happen no woman should be able to come up 30 to 40 years after she has sex with a man and say he raped her.

I think you are right about him paying all the people he victimized a large sum of money. I think it would be more a punishment taking all of his money away and making him live on the street.
