Unfortunately, Go Fund Me was started with good intentions.  Its a shame we live in a society where people look for a way to bilk a good thing. Sad story for sure.  I would never donate to a Go Fund Me account.  Would rather contact them directly.

I only donate to a go fund me page if I know the person themselves or have a friend that knows them.  That way I know if the situation/story is real and worth donating my money to them.

Did you hear about the couple who started a Go Fund Me account for a homeless vet after he gave the lady his last 20$ to pay for her gas at a station?  They have now searched the couple's house trying to find traces of the $400,000 donated because supposedly it didn't go to the homeless vet. They are saying he took what they did give him and spent it on drugs. Well here is my opinion having known two hardcore drug addicts they wouldn't give their last $20 to pay for someone's gas just not gonna happen.  These two I firmly believe are scam artists and apparently so do the authorities.  Gives charity a bad name. :cat:

And now like so many other times you find out it was all a scam and they were all in on it together. I don't trust anybody and I don't believe sob stories.

This is very unfortunate and sad, not only because of what happened, but because I think it damages the credibility of those who use GoFundMe for help. Some friends of mine were able to use it during a recent hurricane and it made a huge difference.

So Very sad.....  But also I see a lot of Greed going on there in all 3 of them.  How can people do that to other people who are willing to help others in a time of need.   Unless I know who the the person is that is in need or the GoFund Me page is for I will not give .  I would rather hand the person in need  clothing or food.   Sometimes money is not the way to go

I was listening to the story on the radio and got all goose pimply and felt good all over.

Then they said it was a scam and it didn't feel so good anymore.  :angry7:

Christine Ballsy Ford raised a million dollars after trying to destroy Justice Kavanaugh.  That really makes my blood boil.  Then the crooks trying to take Trump down make almost as much with go fund me pages.  Just for that reason alone, I wouldn't donate to one.

I'm becoming black-pilled on the entire feel sorry for me because i'm a victim.... or whatever. It seems they almost always are false flags or hoaxes that pull at the heart strings of people.  Nothing but scammers who want money or internet likes on social media.

Just yesterday I was reading about people decrying racism at chipotle's & got the manager fired; turned out the perpetrators had a long history of dine & dashing at the location, posted about it on social media & had a long rap sheet of being arrested on similar charges....   jaded I am.

GoFundMe gets like 10% of all money raised, so they don't care who has a GoFundMe.... all about the $$$
