new job
« on: August 12, 2018, 08:05:59 pm »
looking for a different job.

I am being very picky thou. I have got to get paid similar to what I have now plus I need the same hours per week just need to work during a different time of day. I was hoping this would be quick and easy but looks like it might take some time to find the right job for me.

Might also be I just like the job I have but the manager is making it hard to stay with all the extra hours and stuff and doing a 2 person building myself. ugh we are so short.

lol. Why would it be quick and easy? It is not quick and easy for people who are willing to take anything and work any time to find a job. You certainly aren't going to find something quick and easy if you are being picky.

I do have to be picky on some level. I can not accept making any less than what I am making now unless the job is closer to me and not having to use as much gas would make up for the drop in pay.

thanks. part of me wishes that we could just get a new manager and that keeping this job would be more worth it.

I have been offered a job that pays about fifteen percent more than my current daytime job in an industry that I am more well versed and recognized in. I am thinking of declining because my current day time job has been consistent for five years, rarely lays people off, has a nice 401K program, provides flexibility, gives me five weeks of vacation per year, allows me to dress casual and does not micro manage me. The job offer would mirror my second job and it is kind of nice to have two completely different focuses. Or maybe I have become comfortable and complacent. In either case I think that I will provide a nice, professional response so as to keep the door open for any future offers they may have. I plan on retiring in fifteen years at the latest but will probably still have side jobs.

It's not easy to search and find a job, especially if you are trying to find one that will pay the same or more.  Sometimes one has to decide if happiness in a job is more important than the pay.   I wish you the best of luck in your search.

Depending on where you live it is not easy to find a job that pays above poverty wages.  In my area most jobs are part time and pay $7.25 to maybe $8.00 an hour.  You cannot pay your bills on $8 an hour even if you work full time.  Even the jobs that promise full time hours which are still usually not 40 hours the pay tops out at around $8.  Most do not do full time because they do not want to offer benefits.

And if they would learn the flippin law if you only have 3 -4 employees you do not have to offer insurance any way.  And even offering insurance the employer does not have to pay the premiums.  oscrewedupcare sure messed this country up.

My daughter is really picky about her jobs.  She has a good job now making decent money but she wants to start about an hour earlier and not have an hour lunch.  So, she is looking for a new job too.  She also can't do a lot of physical stuff anymore but hasn't really trained or worked in an office much.

Jobs are always hard to come by.  If you have certain criteria you need to meet go for it, you found the it once and you can do it again.
