What are you going to do that makes you happy?

Helping my family makes me happy and to to be with love ones.

First off-Happy Birthday OldBuddy! Wish you the best in health, wealth and happiness! You deserve a big birthday party! Making others happy makes me happy. I like to give genuine compliments to everyone I encounter, tell a joke or two, and be the best listener that I can be. I work alot so that my family can have everything the need in life plus a few things that they don't. I give my two golden retrievers lots of walks and tons of love. I volunteer for at least two hours per week. Right now I am getting joy and happiness walking dogs for a no-kill dog shelter. I give the dogs a nice long walk, ample time to sniff, love and affection (and a few snacks). This volunteer work is a win-win because I am able to get much needed excercise and I have been using a phone application that pays me to walk.

Good point, earning a bonus can make people happy, but then again, maybe not, because then someone might mess with it to make you mad. Maybe be neutral. Seem emotionless. Then have them wonder what difference it makes? Blah.

I am going to read a self help book about getting happy and see if that helps. I am also going to be making several big changes to my life. Ones that are much over due to make myself happier

I'm deep-cleaning my kitchen, and cleaning out my cabinets. Giving away what I don't need/use.  It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Doing yard work on a sunny day makes me happy for some reason. I take my time doing it and enjoy the outdoors a lot. So I plan to do it every day I can for the rest of the summer.

To answer the topic question, good health and winning a lottery for a few hundred thousand $$ would make me happy. It would take the stress out.

Redecorating makes me happy too; I've redecorated as an antidepressant when my daughters are leaving for college.

I think the only thing that makes me happy or close to it is taking a nap or forcing myself to get something done that I can't continue to put off because I do not like to leave my house.  I have definitely turned into a hermit in my old age.

Thanks for all the good wishes and my party was a real blast. More than 50 people showed up, some from thousands of miles away and the food was great. Our oldest son came from Alaska and bought a truck while he was here, but he didn't have enough time to drive it home in time to be back to work, so we are going to deliver it to him. We have done this before and the 2,500 mile drive on the Alcan Highway is beautiful enough to make us very happy to do it again. We have tickets already to FLY back home.
