Sorry to say but I don't know how to swim, was afraid i would drown, didn't think that the water would hold me up, still afraid of the water, pools or beaches.

I am, by no means, a good swimmer. But if I had to choose a venue, it would definitely be a swimming pool. With the high probability of a shark attack (plus the microorganisms in the water), I do not understand why people continue to swim in lakes, oceans, rivers, etc.

One of my biggest regrets is not learning how to swim

The beach is my happy place, although I cannot swim.  At least I don't think I can- you never know what you can do when you don't have a choice other than doing it.

I never had a preference. I was a fish, 24/7 if possible. I don't live near a beach but used to go to MD beaches. I can no longer go swimming. last time I tried, my body cramped up so bad, it was really painful. Can no longer war a bathing suit either because of my leg. :(
