Although I am outgoing, I don't chat up strangers, and really don't like it when people chat me up.  I used to travel by air all the time and dreaded the seat-mate who would be chatty.

I generally don't care to chat with strangers in public. I'll be polite if someone tries to engage me, but won't encourage them, just answer in as few words as possible.

What I will do is pass along a smile to someone who seems like they could use one.

I always talk to someone in the gunshops or about 75% of the time at Walmart when I'm in the outdoor/firearms section... :thumbsup:

I guess I am in between.  I don't go out of my way to get in a conversation with a stranger but I certainly don't go out of my way to avoid it.  I am open to a conversation but I respect and stay away from grumpy people like you!  haha Just joking.
