I love going to the library to check out books, movies, taking the grand kids to story hours.  It is always nice and cool when it is really hot outside.

Yes, I get books from the library. More people should read. There is nothing like the feel of a book in your hands.

Jimmy Kimmel did this bit on his show by going to the public and asking people to name any book. None could which is sad for our education system.

I mean, there is no excuse not to be able to name ONE book title.

Sad . . .

I just went to the library and checked out a book that I need to get back to reading. It had been so long since I actually checked out a book, it felt great.

I go to the library once a month to review business and investment journals and grab a few CD's to download on to my phone. I have downloaded a library application to my phone that allows me access to all of the books and I usually read two to four books per month while exercising on my stationary bike. I down loaded an audio book last month that was pretty good. The nice thing is that the books go back automatically when due so that I don't rack up over due/late charges if I don't have time to return the book. I haven't had one go back automatically yet as I read them quickly and return them so that the next person on the waiting list can start reading it. I am not sure why they have waiting lists for downloaded books-it would seem that there would be unlimited copies in a digital format.

I was having this conversation with a family member just the other day, why are there only 2-3 copies of a certain book available for digital loan?  ::)

My county library system has several ebook download options, but only one, Overdrive, is Kindle compatible. I didn't realize this before buying a Kindle... a number of the books I wanted to read but were digital only are with other options.  ???

At least I'm getting a few extra books in a month now!

I went once a couple of years ago for the first time since I had to for school.  I read a ton but they have a very poor selection for the type of stuff I read.

I used to go to the library on a regular basis but since the invention of the computer I hardly go anymore.  It seems I'm always busy doing other things.   :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose:

I try to rent movies there as often as possible. Unfortunately I find their stock of movies and books is dwindling, my local branches are getting rid of shelves in favor of nonsense little coffee bars and shops meant to attract more people yet are never staffed so it's just wasted space.

I love going to the library.  There is nothing better than the smell of a book from the library.  Now that my grandson is 2 1/2 years I take to story time and check out books for him

Oh yeah.  All the time.  I read ebooks, too.  But there's just something about being unplugged and paper and ink.
