I always hate to hear that someone had taken their life.  It is so hard to imagine how someone could be that desperate to take their own life for whatever reason.  I pray she was prepared to meet the Lord.

Read the story of her suicide, her husband was inside the apartment when she did it, and her daughter was at school, sad to know how she just took her life like that. No matter what kind of problems you may have in your life, that isn't the way to get away from it. Talk to someone that can help when things start going wrong for you, don't keep it bottled up, please people talk to someone.

I agree; money doesn't equal overall happiness, it just means the financial aspect of life is easier but there are other realms to consider (health, spirituality, relationships, and so on).

I just saw this but didn't read the story. Just the headline. I don't think money has anything to do with it at all.  People are just unhappy.  It is nice to have the money to pay your bills and buy a hamburger if you want it but even people who are rich are unhappy.  So obviously, yeah, money doesn't make you happy.  You can have all the money in the world and still be unhappy.

Is it bad that I thought anybody who has any of her stuff better hang on to it cause it could be worth a lot of money?

According to a TV show I just watched, Kate Spade's husband has been wanting a divorce for awhile.  Also, Ms. Spade's sister has supposedly stated she has suffered from depression off and on.  The saddest thing is that it was announced that Kate has a 13 year old daughter.  Imagine what this child must be feeling!  It will be a shadow over her life for quite some time, especially without help and support.

I think any suicide is a sad thing.  Hard to imagine the person's state of mind that they would think that is a rational way out of their problems.  The people left behind are the ones that suffer.

It is a really sad thing but I think some people find life so unbearable, they feel killing themselves really is the only option. I read somewhere they also usually think their loved ones will be a lot better off without them. But I feel most badly for the 13 year old daughter. What a terrible thing to have to grow up without her mom.

My heart goes out to her daughter, family and friends! This is so sad. I liked the style of her handbags. This just goes to show a person can have fame and fortune and everything this world can offer and it still does not bring you peace and happiness. Life is about a breath. I hope anyone that has depression or thinks that there is no way out gets help!

Very sad to see a successful woman take her own life. I feel badly for her thirteen year old daughter. I read that she left a note telling the teen not to blame herself. I don't think anything is worth taking my life and leaving behind my children.
