I've never seen on in person, but I think they're scary. I live in California and I'm used to earthquakes, but I think seeing a tornado coming would freak me out. I hear people in the midwest (and east coast) don't think much about them, they just do go to their storm shelter.

:fish: :moon: :fish: I haven't seen a tornado n my life time yet. Would be spooky to get to see one if I did. I've seen the clouds looking like a tornado, but nothing that has started into one.  :fish: :moon: :fish:

I like watching storm chaser videos on youtube. I always think it would be so amazing to see a tornado in person, if only you could watch from a safe enough spot. Have you seen one in person and how close?

No.  I am not stupid.  And it was dark.  How close was it?  Well it took down a building a couple miles from my house.  And one of the police officers was screaming on the radio he saw a funnel cloud and he was about half a mile from my house.  SO pretty close.  But it was over before we really knew it began.  The other one that touched down in my town I was a kid.  Took out the windows in the gym where I was at.  And took the top of a family members business which was about a mile or less from where I was.

I too have never seen one in person and would also like to do so given some sort of guarantee it wouldn't hurt me or mine. My favorite iconic tornado is the one in the Wizard of Oz.

I watched my tree get picked up and carried down my drive way , I lived in tornado alley in southern OK ... the storm chasers were at our A & W  all the time .. 1/2 a mile from my farm. I lived right on  I35 in Davis  between OK city  and Dallas  there were tornados all the time .

I've watched documentaries on Tornado Alley....crazy stuff...i'd have me an underground bunker if I lived in that area.... :o
I had a safe room, the bunkers are a spooky thing , lots a creepy crawling stuff down there. Black widows every where , fire ants, copper heads , why i moved back to MN got bite by a brown recluse and needed to come to the Mayo to save my leg.  Some times cold weather is a good thing...

I've always wanted one of those laid out underground bunkers!
