Are you honest with your doctor?

I know someone who does not take care of herself. When going to the doctor she tells the doctor about the "healthy" foods she eats and to exercise that she does. I wonder if the doctor believes what she says or if the doctor is thinking, what is wrong with this lady??

If you are not hones with your doctor how do you expect them to treat you.  Why go if you don't tell them the truth about your health.

Your putting your life in danger when you won't be truthful about  what you do and how you feel. How can a doctor treat you and get it right if you do lie. Thank  god my father was truthful when he  went to the doctor. He had a serious problem and the doctor was able to take care of it with surgery . Right now he is  hurting some but it will get better as time goes on. If I had not told the truth a few years ago I would not be hear writing this either.

Yes I am honest with my doctor because otherwise it is a waste of time and money going there - if I go to the doctor it is to hopefully get help with a medical issue. I guess your friend goes to maintain medication and otherwise just wants to continue doing whatever they want to do.

Mostly. If he doesn't have all the facts he can't make a good diagnosis and plan of treatment.

wow, the only thing I did is how to ask a question to the doc. If I over state I get too strong of med, than the other way and not get enough meds.

I'm honest with my doctor but sometimes disappointed as he'll keep switching meds on me like its just a guessing game.  I miss our old, retired family dr that my husband and I went to for over 30 years.  He was a true blessing to us and certainly knew his stuff.  Now the place I go seems to have a different person for me to see every time I go.  The real doctor there is sometimes hardly seen.  Frustrating really.  I'm in tune with my body and system and really feel sorry for the ones going there that aren't.

     you will have to save yourself.

They don't care.  My doctor is obese she can barely walk just sits at her desk and ask questions.  How are you going to give advice about being healthy when you are obese?

I'm always honest with my doctor. It would be a waste of time if I wasn't going to be truthful about things that could affect my health.
