Cellphone safety
« on: May 02, 2018, 03:17:21 pm »
I live in the northeast and I seen people getting pulled over in the last few weeks for being on their phone. First of all whenever I get a call. I put in on speaker and keep it low and out of site. In the midwest, this was not a law and you can answer your phone anytime you wanted. I don't understand why the law says you can't answer a phone unless you have a blu tooth connected. The person is still talking on the phone. they never make sense :peace:

Here near Chicago it is illegal to be on you cell phone but you can use hands free in you car.  If you caught using the speaker it is still illegal.  I think it is a great idea as too many people are not paying attention to their driving and the highways and main streets are crowded enough without anymore distractions.  What did they do before cellphones? Nothing is that important to endanger another persons live

There is no law about this where I live.  I do travel a lot though and forget that it might be against the law in whichever state I am in.  I need to find a website with the law for each state and bookmark it on my phone so I can pull it up real quick.

So many people are distracted from talking or texting and it's causing accidents.  I don't think anyone should be able to use one while driving unless it's an emergency such as life or death.  If you kill someone while on a cell and driving, you will have to live with that the rest of your life - not worth it to me.

It's not illegal to talk on your cell here while driving but it is against the law to text and drive.  Doesn't seem to stop very many people around here unfortunately

It's illegal to talk while driving but people still do it anyway until they get into an accident learn their lesson.

It is not illegal to talk on your cellphone here. I do use my speaker phone always. I also never text and drive. If I have to text I pull over to the nearest place I can park.

It must be a law made for safety reasons. You shouldn’t simultaneously text and drive because you could get distracted from resistance to damage.

It is amazing how so many people are stupid enough to continue to talk on their cell phones.  An ear piece is so easy to use, yet they continue to talk on their cell.  Talking on Cells is against the law, but the Police will not enforce the law.  I have been in near misses because idiots are focused on their conversations and not their driving.
