Healthcare for All?
« on: April 13, 2018, 07:44:46 pm »
Who believes that everyone in the United States should be entitled to healthcare? We are always getting taxed number one. Most still have pot holes in the street in which the city refuse to fill, we have tolls. It's hard trying to make ends meet working even a full time job and trying to pay for healthcare too. You make too much money you can't get help, you don't make enough or nothing you receive aide. But then you have the President trying to put regulations on welfare and work requirements making even the mentally and physically disabled go back to work. I just don't understand. There are people out here that have worked in their past and sincerely need their disability. Everyone isn't trying to beat the system. Canada has free healthcare, and maybe another country. :angry7:

I believe in Universal Health Care for all!
    Rich-poor, healthy-sick.
Unfortunately, not every city has these programs
for all. Always go cities where medical services are
    available.

It should be a universal thing. The reason why it is not in this country is because nobody really cares about one another and that really is the bottom line.

Along with most others who have responded I believe everyone is entitled to receive healthcare, if not free, then for minimal cost.  So many folks, myself included don't go to the doctor because of outrageous costs.   Pharmaceutical companies and hospitals charge insane amounts for services.   It's no wonder most folks in our country are in less than good health.

"Entitled" to health care? NO.  Healthcare should be affordable.  You are not entitled to anything.  And Canada doesn't have free healthcare.  They do pay for it.  But everyone has the same thing.  And you may die waiting on a bed.  It is also prioritized.  Someone has a heart attack they will of course be moved in ahead of you.  There was a younger woman who needed surgery and with universal health care of course yes she gets the surgery.  But she died waiting on a bed.  She never got the surgery.

I am 100% for the work for welfare.  Nobody owes you anything.  You want something get off your butt and WORK for it.  Nobody deserves to have anything just handed to them for free.  We have too many leeches in this country.  I am surrounded by them.  Very few of my neighbors work.  Most of them are drawing a check off the government.

Work or starve!

And no, I do not have health insurance.  I cannot afford it.  So I do what I can to stay healthy and I do run to the doctor when I stub my toe.

lol.  No the bottom line is there are enough people with brains in their heads to know that this is not a good thing.

Universal health care is NOT free.   Somebody has to pay for it.   I know a woman who lives in a country where they have the "free universal healthcare" and they take HALF her paycheck to pay for the "free" healthcare.  The more you make the more you contribute to the free healthcare.  Deadbeats of course continue to get everything for free.

I am over the people who won't work.  Maybe they need to start euthanizing the people who refuse to work.  They are not needed.

That is the problem with this country.  You are not entitled to anything.  Yes, everyone should be able to get healthcare.  And at an affordable cost.  It should not cost several hundred thousand dollars for a surgery needed to keep you alive.

If healthcare is free then the doctors are hospital staff are going to have to work for free.  The money won't just fall from the sky to pay their salary.  If they are being paid $10 to $12 dollars an hour they are not going to go to school to get the education needed to be a doctor.  DO you really want to go to a doctor that went to school to become a doctor in the middle east?  That's all you will have is a bunch of foreigners as doctors.  That is about all we have now.

And the insurance companies are a huge part of why medications and doctor visits are so insanely high.

Affordable healthcare is what I should have said. Your neighbors who you say don't work maybe have a situation that you know nothing about, and therefore you are judging. Disability is real and I don't feel they should be forced to work especially if they have worked most of their lives and is drawing a check that they earned.

Health care for all should be a given.  Nobody should die because they can't afford the medication they need.
