Fake mystery shopper surveys
« on: April 05, 2018, 06:09:49 pm »
Just got this today in the mail. Ask Markets llc Apple Store Mystery shopper assignment. Comes with a fake cashier's check that looks surprisingly real. Now I have to mull over what to do ? Websites says report and give everything to the Fbi or attorney General or FTC.

Received a priority mail packet with  a 2500 dollar cashier's check, info from this "company" and what I'm supposed to do. It's being a mystery shopper at an Apple store, buying 2 1000 dollar plus gift cards and the rest of the money is my salary. Fortunately me being the smart guy that I am I took a minute to type in this company on my search bar and it came up with a red flag that was flaming.  I don't like scammers, not wasting my time going to an Fbi field office, the FTC complaint forum seems a pain, but I will give Fcash the info since they allowed this scammer to get my address by allowing access to this site. Then  I'm shredding.

I've been trying to contact the proper authorities but unfortunately it's a pain  and even trying to contact Fusioncash over this is a pain,so I'm simply stating the facts on the boards and shredding the check and paper.

Before you discard it, report them to the FBI and BBB.  These look like legit opportunities that are luring people into big trouble.

I'm not discarding, they will be completely shredded and  I'm not going to the Fbi field office for this, will e-mail  the info and my beliefs on who this person really is. I get enough junk mail and spam, but fake cashier checks as well as scammers get to me.

This kind of mess has been going on for many years.  A long time ago, I also received a bogus check in the mail.

I remember trying to report it but not getting very far.  It's a shame that this is still going on but I suppose as long as people are getting scammed by cashing in the worthless checks, then scammers will continue to be in business.

Hard to believe ppl get scammed by this with all the info available on the internet about it.                                                                                                                                                 Didn't expect it and only reason it was sent to me is because of  Fusion Cash. Just spent the last hour filling out forms with the FBI and Postal Service and now I have to file this stuff away until contacted. So much fun being a good person,so enjoyable having my mailing address available for junk mail and scammers. Thank you Fusion Cash. Remember from FC you get  pennies at a time  that can become hundreds of dollars.

Too many fraudsters who are out there looking for someone to cheat.  You have to be careful.
