It is sad that the man died.  Cardiac arrest was the cause of death. 

According to the Birmingham Mail, the man had dropped his phone and was trying to retrieve it in between the theater’s Gold Class seats at the end of the film. The three Gold Class rooms at the complex offer a fully licensed bar, and are only available to attendees over 18.

After he bent down, the reclining, electric seat’s footrest clamped down on the man’s head. He was attending the film with his partner, who reportedly became frantic as the man started to panic upon realizing he was stuck. Staff and other patrons at the cinema struggled to free him, but eventually broke him out of the entrapment.

Is that really true?  It's hard to believe that something like that can happen when they can just cut the damn seat around him.  There hasn't been anything in the news.

Wow! Seems strange that somebody would die this way, but people die from many reasons and ways. I've only heard of this as of now!

Good lord, how come paramedics couldn’t cut away the chair? This seems like a horrible and preventable way to have died

I just read the story and that is sure a freak way to die. I guess you just never know what might happen from one minute to the next.

I think most of this is due to the internet.  Before, people were probably dying in weird ways, but we had no way of spreading the news.  No one is going to write a newspaper article about how some guy died oddly before when newspapers were the only method of spreading news, so they focused on the important topics.

With the internet, we have access to everything in seconds so sharing this kind of news along side of vital news is easier, thus we hear about crazy stuff now.

A death strange or normal is always sad. We can die at any moment who is to say if it is strange or not? I agree with one of the members that we are just hearing more worldthans then before because of technology.
