Summers Around The Corner, Here It Comes!!!

We have all sat around twiddling our thumbs wondering what we could get into this summer. Something cheap and easy  and that will keep the kids occupied, while you have fun too! Is there anything in your areas you enjoy doing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do? Or festivals that come around your town?
We have a main street festival, filled with street food, live bands, and locals who make or grow what they are selling. We have a used book store that allows us to shop for new and used books, dvds, and music!
Anything like that you guys do?

We start out with a 100 mile rummage sale that is the first weekend in May and the town where i live is insane, even the fire dept is selling BBQ chicken and dogs !  One part of town blocks off the street and you have to walk it.  People from out of state show up with trailers, then there is another Corn on the cob days in a town a little down the road, then the water melon days , and there is whats called the Flood Run and its piles of cycles come from all over to raise money for some charity, then the bike club has a bike tour, and the place is packed with bikes, and pumpkin fest, Oct fest, Grumpy Old Men Days ... its non stop stuff going on, even people jumping in the river in FEB when they chop holes in the Ice, there is something always going on and most is free.

I don't know about my town, but we go to another city during the summer and they have plenty of things during the summer.  There are plenty of art shows throughout the summer.  I don't really go to them, but they are nice things.  A spree comes to town as well, but the cost is minor if you stay long enough.

 summer here it comes, we can do many things in the summer time specially having a vacation and enjoy the warm weather,,and I can start plan vegetables..can grill outside and sit outside of my garden,, its good hiking too..

I live fairly close to the beach, so that's free except for the parking in some spots - but the cities sell summer parking passes so it doesn't cost an arm & a leg every one goes to the beach.

A lot of the cities around here have summer in the park, with free concerts.

We get annual passes for a couple theme parks around the area & that fills in to fill the summer
Last year we got Brunswick bowling summer passes for around $30... it allows daily bowling for 2 hours a day including shoes.  Get some exercise & it is pretty fun too

In my area we have a lot of out door concerts, city parks, pools, picnic areas, carousels (indoor and outdoor), paddle boats, concession stands, lakes and rivers for fishing.  In door museums, history statutes, restaurants with out door
setting.  A lot of fun things to do.

There is a lot that goes on in our area but I don't get to enjoy too much of it since they are outside.  too much mosquitoes

I live in Florida close to the beach so thats always cheap fun. I also live in a historic town near bases so those usually result in free events. Then New Orleans is close enough for a day trip or weekend getaway

Yup. I am looking forward to it besides the hot weather that comes along with it. I am in the process of planning for the summer now because it will be here before you know it.

Our town has a spring block festival which consist of several blocks of people selling all kinds of things. They also have many food vendors out there also. They do this festival in April and again in October. Its good exercise and always to nice to see what some of the crafty people are making.

I wish it would stay spring for ever! Here in Florida it's just right weather wise specially near evening time in the spring! Summer's so hot you can't enjoy going out because you're gonna feel like you're roasting like a barbecue pig in the fire pit!🍡🍢🍗🍖

Here in NC in the beach very nice weather and so many people right now enjoying the beach.  Spring break starts and Easter Sunday.

Winter and summer... the only two seasons left.

I am in no hurry for the blazing heat of summer.

I plan to fully enjoy the spring, which is just starting by the way.

I will plan my veg garden and plant snowpeas, since they like the leftover chill in the air in May in Wisc.

Summer is my least favorite of the four seasons. The garden and the grandkids.....family get-togethers. 

I do not do "heat" gracefully.
