I have a Jaccard Meat Tenderizer....it isn't a mallet or hammer, but a kitchen gadget/tool with 48 Ultra Sharp Needle Stainless Steel Blades.

It was a gift.  The blades basically make tiny slits in the meat or chicken.

The ad for it says:

Improves yield and "plate coverage" by reducing shrinkage.
Tiny "heat channels" are created, resulting in faster penetration of marinades, providing more even cooking throughout the meat, and significantly reduced cooking times - all without changing the shape or appearance of your meat. which can help tenderize tougher cuts of meat.  Also

I have a meat tenderizer that I'd earned years ago while selling Pampered Chef products.  I've used it to flatten different meats when I want to create a rolled affect.  Usually with apple or pear filling.  Although it's not often I make that sort of thing.  Seems like a bit more work necessary when I'm the only one who really likes it.

Why would you use your hands to beat meat? it will not get tender, common sense, use it.

Sounds good.

My younger son is in charge of steaks etc. He has the muscles.

I use the slow-cooker for my meat for myself.

Ok. Now I am officially hungry for a steak. Fortunately, my son i taking me to the steak house for supper, as it is my 75th bday.  Steak is a wonderful way to deal with the shock of being 3/4 a century.

I dont thing your hands will make the meat moist.  You need to use cooking utensils to season better.
