Reba and KFC
« on: February 18, 2018, 08:40:25 pm »
I got to see the new Reba McIntyre KFC commercial many times during today’s Fox coverage of the Daytona 500. Quite honestly the commercial makes me want to avoid eating at KFC the rest of my life. It has to be the most annoying commercial I have ever seen.

When I was a child I was eating Kfc and a bone lodged in my throat, had to stick my fingers in there to get it out,I do love original recipe though.

I don't eat much KFC, but think their commercial trend is cute.  I wonder who they will use next in their ads. :)

I haven't seen the commercials with Reba just yet. I don't eat KFC much so whoever their current spokesperson is doesn't bother me. I really like their mashed potatoes.

I have seen the commercial and it has no effect on if I use KFC or not. It depends on what is convenient for me at the time.

So cool, love her. I like the pickles in the smoky mountain BBQ... and I always say don't forget the pickles please.

I don't mind KFC, although we don't have one near us, but I do not care for the commercial. It doesn't impress me at all, but I like Reba!

Actually, I've never minded KFC chicken, but their commercials stink period.  The worst have always been the ones with Colonel Sanders.  Now I'm a die-hard fan of country music and always loved Reba.  I even watched her tv show Reba when it aired, but seriously to use her in a KFC commercial for Smokey Mountain barbecue is just low.  Yes, seeing her in a commercial gets her to resonate with younger generations to increase her already famous stature, which is probably her reason for doing it, but it is corny.  I mean she sounds as great as ever, but to dress up as the Colonel and sing (in one commercial) that she's not a woman and to disregard her resemblance to any famous singer (cameo by herself in person) is just ridiculous.  And the other one with her dressed as Reba and then stripping to become Colonel Sanders is even worse.  Honestly, there had to be a better way to get to younger audiences than to a KFC commercial.  They're bad enough as it is let alone taking a great country legend and having her degrade herself by doing this stuff.

Considering it is just a spoof commercial for KFC, it is kind of cute and  a shock at first because  you don't expect Reba to be doing it. We rarely eat KFC but enjoy it when we do. It is  go to when I have been really busy and  don't have a thing  to fix in the house or any way I can't think of what to cook Hubby will  want to go get KFC. Ok by me. Sweet of him to offer.

Haven't seen the commercial yet.  We all love KFC, and we were so sad when the only one within 50 miles closed.  The owner retired, and her kids didn't want it. :(
