anyone paint and hide rocks?

No but I had a pet rock when I was a kid.

I think this was a short-lived fad.  Last summer there was an article in the paper showing groups painting rocks with designs or uplifting sayings.  the painted rocks were then "hidden" -in plain view- and the finder could pick it up and keep it.

I think the idea was to share good feelings with people at random.

No but I have relatives in St. Augustine FL who are doing it big time.  Here where I live near Daytona Beach they are doing it.  I don't know how it got started but it seems people are having quite a good time with it.  I am disabled and rarely get out but I actually saw my first rock on the drive through window of Dunkin Donuts the other day.

I have never done it but I know someone who does. It seems fun but I would never be able to do it because I don't have the extra time.

I usually paint them but for my garden.  I don't hide them but yes, it is a tradition, especially since rocks last forever and eggs don't.  It works for those allergic to eating eggs they can at least join in the hunt and not feel left out.
