Sponge mop

I bought the libman mop but the sponge rips after the 3rd time....can anyone suggest a good mop to wash my kitchen floor?

I used to use sponge mops but never had a problem with them.  I think I may have bought libman before but like I said I had no problems with any of them.  I can't recommend a certain brand as I don't remember for sure which brands I bought.  Now I just use a regular old time cotton mop.

You might want to break down and buy a steam mop.  No soap.  Just steam.  They clean well, sanitize as you go, and the floor dries quickly.  I'd never go back.

We have the rubber tile floor, it is down with glue. I do have a steam mop but with the steam it lifts up the tile....kind of like if you want to get wallpaper off you steam it...it just doesn't work

 I have a black and decker  mop. It is similar to a swifter but has a washable mop pad. I just love it  I got it at Home Depot I had it for years. P

I love the swifer wet jet.  You need to try this or something like it.  Look for something that you can change the head of and the liquid comes out clean.  This way you aren't always using either dirty water or a dirty head.

I use a rag mop, you can remove the head and throw it in the washer with some bleach, to me the sponge mops always just moved the dirt around from one spot to the next

The steam kind sounds good, but as others said I'm afraid of it causing water damage or making surfaces peel off etc. I would probably only try that on solid tile surfaces and the like.

Was going to suggest a steam mop, but since the OP says it doesn't work for them...

Also, I use a plain old Libman mop, the kind that has the sleeve that goes over the replaceable mop head and squeezes out the excess water. That works well when I'm not using the steam mop (which is most of the time these days).

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that your Libman sponge mop ripped so soon after you got it. Libman usually has quality cleaning implements, so maybe this one was a lemon? I use a steam mop, like a few others noted, and it's absolutely great! There were some other good ideas on this thread as well, so here's hoping that you can find a replacement quick!

Buy the old time real mops, not those fake mops....

Try a swifter mop where you use replacement wipes instead of using a sponge that collects billions of billions of bacteria no matter how many times you wash it.

I think its sad they make junk these days... 3 times that's just not right. Like these darn cell phones and computers you have to change like underwear.
