2017 Going Out with a COLD Snap

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills expected. The dangerously
cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes
to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 25 below zero
to 45 below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central and
southeast South Dakota, northeast Nebraska, northwest and west
central Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Monday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerously cold wind chills may continue
Monday night.



A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and
the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frost
bite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if
precautions are not taken.

It’s 12 in PA, but suppose to drop to single digits tonight.  I can’t believe they are having the Mummers Parade tomorrow.  So many things are cancelled.

I am amazed at all these low temperatures. May everyone stay safe in this awfully cold weather. I am lucky here we will not go below 18 degrees. So glad I have a fireplace.

Parts of florrida are still warm at least haha but seriously the cold without rain just really never made sense to me

Right now it's -27C WITHOUT the wind chill which brings it to -37C.

My teen grandkids moved back from Florida (Hurricane Irma)....and into a deep freeze.

I live in Georgia, so it doesn't get near as cold as some are experiencing! We're supposed to be at 28 degrees F tonight, so it will seem very, very cold to us. I grew up in Illinois, though, so I do remember living in the kind of extreme conditions you're posting about. I hope everybody affected by this cold snap stays safe and warm!
