Anyone else have to work Xmas?
« on: December 23, 2017, 09:12:57 pm »
I'm working.  I don't care though.  I don't celebrate anyway.  I get time and 1/2 a free meal and I'm going to be staying in a nice hotel.

Time and a half and free meals is nice! I'm not, fortunately, but I appreciate those who do, particularly those who don't celebrate Xmas and don't mind working those days. I'm also grateful for all the military and first responders, etc., who work on days like today and tomorrow. Thank you!

I am retired but both my sons have to work.  They have to work all holidays as both of them work in Assisted Living facilities and regardless of the day the residents have to be cared for and fed.

I don't have to work on Christmas anymore since I don't work outside the house, unless you count cooking and cleaning and all that, LOL!

When I was a lot younger, before I had a family, I would volunteer to work on Christmas so as to get the extra holiday pay. Then after I was finished, I'd go to my mom's for a late Christmas dinner. So it all worked out pretty well for me!

I do not have to work on Christmas day. I am sorry that you work, but I can say that I am grateful for those who are working at grocery stores. I have to pick some things up.

I have never once worked Christmas day or eve. My son when he works a holiday he gets like double time holiday bonus pay and free meal and a presents. They make it easy to say yes, he isn't working this one and the next couple of days off too. My daughter is on vacation for 2 weeks. I am happy for them.  :santa:

I am as we speak.  It's quiet and it's time and a half.  I can't complain.

Where do you work?  Some jobs you know going in you will be working holidays.  And the direction we are headed pretty soon Christmas will be just another day and everything will be open.
